Family of three (with 5 year old boy) stayed for a week during high season, overlapping "Settimana Biancha" in Italy. Hotel went from 30% occupancy to full during our stay, and the increase had no impact on service quality. Room was very comfortable and large. Meals are very relaxed and of excellent quality, but with a formal touch and very attentive service. Augustin, our waiter, had an impeccable style and made us feel like VIPs. The wine list is superb, with a great selection from Trentino, a region rich in excellent wines. The sala for aperatives and after dinner grappas is large and cozy--- lots of games to play. One night of the week has an aperative for the hotel with a candlelight dinner, a very relaxed and fun evening where you get to interact with the other guests. For Skiing: An easy propostion from the Salvan, with a locker downstairs, and a free skibus that stops directly in front of the hotel. Often Col Rodella Funivia is crowded, so taking the bus for "Penia" and stopping at Canazei's gondola can avoid the line and get you closer to hopping on the Sella Ronda. RENTAL CAR TIP === If you rent a diesel, and the temps are below -2C for a prolonged period --- either put in diesel when you arrive to the Mountain area, or an additive. Unfreezing the car cost 150EURO across the street. A small blemish on an otherwise wonderful time at the Salvan.
