We stayed 4 nights at Pukeko with Sandy and Mike and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. They were so welcoming and friendly making us feel very at home. The bedroom was so comfortable and we were very much at home here. Thanks for a lovely stay. Annie and Mark

We stayed four nights with Sandy and Mike at Pukeko Retreat. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, having grown up nearby. We enjoyed Sandy's fantastic cooked breakfasts. This was a perfect base to explore the Abel Tasman area, and the town of Takaka itself is quite a pleasant little place to stroll around.

Clean spacious room and comfy bed, ample parking, free wifi and a very friendly atmosphere. There is a shared bathroom between two guest bedrooms, but as we were the only guests staying, we had it to ourselves.

We had a great stay and would recommend Pukeko Retreat!

Friends of ours had recommended we visited the Golden Bay area of New Zealand, and they weren't wrong. Incredible coast line and rugged countryside combined with the arty and trendy towns of Nelson and Takaka made it a really enjoyable area to visit.

We found the website on Google and contacted the owners Sandy and Mike who we discovered and not long opened the B&B. We stayed for 3 nights and were pleased to find it was a lovely and comfortable, with Sandy cooking up a fantastic NZ breakfast every morning. The couples local knowledge really helped us get the most out of our stay.

Overall highly recommend and we look forward to visiting again on our next trip.
