Great oasis, the surrounding area can be over whelming for some. Nice to comeback from your daily excursions and enjoy the gated calming offering the hotel offers. Visited in March 2014 shame about a few mosquitoes in the bathroom, just take your own insecticide. Apart from than I would rate this 3.5 - 4 stars!! Great gardens, nice cottage like accommodation and tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We decided to do something different to herald 2014 and thus a trip to Goverdhan with the entire family. Getting the place booked was not easy as they don't want to talk on the phone and don't reply to the mails in entirety. Replies are standard cut and paste of the tariff sheet and very curt. Therefore it took a lot of time and patience to get the place booked. The management remarks (defensiveness) on negative reviews was another put off but we still decided to stay at this property.

The property itself is very good with huge potential. The reception at the resort was not very welcoming. We were 11 of us and were told to wait as the rooms were being readied. It was past 300 pm, well beyond the advertised check in time. Anyway we got couple of rooms soon and put our bags. The cottages are OK but maintenance is poor. There was water leakage in almost all the bathrooms and we had four of them.

The food is vegetarian and taste is good but I don't understand why they had to touch everything by bare hands and the thumb of the server was dipping in every curry that he brought. It was a huge put off. We pointed it out to the people but apparently they are used so used to it that they cannot help it. It was the same at breakfast. All the Puris and Bhatures were "manhandled". The person even offered to butter the bread for me using his hands but that was a little too much for me as I could see him using his hands for a lot of other purposes...So much for some basic hygiene.

The resort website lists a bar, but they don't have it. The indoor pool is not heated. Gym and other facilities are basic. The resort it huge and the marketing person did his best to sell one of the villas to us. Getting a bonfire on the new year eve was pretty taxing, but finally we managed a small pot of fire in the open.

I would like to congratulate the reviewer who talked about the 100 rs for extra tea bags. We were mentally prepared for it but seemingly they don't charge it any longer. i was looking hard for the sign that the management has talked about in their reply to the negative review but didn't see it. LOL!!!

The overall impression & my whole experience of the place was that though the place is great and has a huge potential, the staff and management is very ordinary and they cannot take criticism in good spirit. I hope I will not see the detailed explanation (read denial) of every negative aspect that I have highlighted in my review & they will take it constructively to improve their services.

I experienced better hospitality this time than earlier, it is good that they are improving however yet need to improve in terms of services, courtesy and hospitality. Like the room heaters burnt and was replaced with a remark that no more available, all rooms are full.

After a tiring day in Mathura & vridavan, we headed for this place in govardhan. We chose this place only on Tripadvisors views!!Thanks to all! Beautiful place to stay in. The cottages are neat & tidy, far beyond your expectation in the otherwise cramped city. There are so many things which a person wants to experience when going to any holy place, the most important being peeping into the self. The place is so much at peace that you would love it.We were a large group, we opted for 2 double rooms. We didn't have to call the room service for our one night stay as everything fell in its place already:)The dining area is small but the food was good & fresh. The breakfast starts at 8am, which as per us is pretty late if u want to start your day early, but it was good veg breakfast. The swimming pool is small, the kids may get attracted to it as they don't have much of interest in pilgrimage.Yes, I would like to mention here that there was confusion in the name, we were looking for RADHA ASHOK & what is written outside is SHRI GROUP BRIJ VASUNDHARA, so we went ahead 2 kms further & then called up again to chk if it means the same thing.that was confusing. The stay is comfortable, peaceful & worth the tariff:)Have a peaceful stay!Radhe Radhe!!
