This was our third stay here and it gets better each time - we love it here! Our two children (aged 7 and 2) adore their bedroom, filled with toys for them to enjoy. We arrived late in the evening but the cottage was warm and cosy with a wonderful welcome basket filled with biscuits, coffee, cake, wine and lots more. Mary Ann goes to such efforts to make us welcome each time we stay here. There is so much to do in this beautiful part of Wales - our son loves the steam trains and we even managed to play on the beach at nearby Criccieth despite it being October. We will be back!
Could not have been more pleased with the personal hospitality and attentiveness of Mary Ann. Everything was perfect from her ample welcome basket to restful caress of a most inviting bed.
Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, lots of personal touches that really helped. Very comfortable, warm and cosy. Just perfect.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the snowdonia national
Stayed for 5 nights with my wife and 2 year old toddler. He fell in love with his room the minute he found a box of toys and a play mat. We loved the cosy feel of the place and anything you possibly want is already in the house, including a lovely welcome basket from Mary Ann. The place is spotless too. Its a small quirky little house and as a fairly tall guy I did find a few beams with my head by forgetting where I was at times. Its in nice quite area and the local Co-op shop has all you could need. It was a perfect location for us really because we like to time our toddlers sleeps with driving somewhere about an hour away, we would get up, have breakfast at the cottage and then take a short drive to Betws y Coed and tire out the little fella till we knew he would sleep. Then we would pick somewhere roughly an hour away at a relaxed pace such as the Sea Zoo or Mountain Zoo etc. We would definitely recommend Crud At Awel to anyone. My 1 tip is to bring an Amazon fire stick or similar to connect to the TV and the wifi and you will have plenty to watch in the evening.
This was our first time visiting wales, staying in a cottage instead of a caravan near a beach.
We could not fault the cottage, it was everything we imagined it would be, the kitchen was fully equipped and having a washing machine was an added bonus, we didn't even miss having T.V channels as we sat down and watched DVDs and read books when we in the cottage, we also found the downstairs bed really comfy and there was plenty of things for us to do in the local area. The children really enjoyed underground trampolines and zip wires that were within walking distance and we even had a trip underground in an old slate mine.
We enjoyed our stay at MaryAnn's cottage. Location was central in our travels north and south of the national park. Nearby attractions include the slate caverns and railway. The cottage itself felt like real home with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, hair dryer and heaps of board games/dvds to pass time. The goodies hamper was very helpful with hiking snacks and other basics. The bedrooms were charming with English decor with warm duvets and comfy pillows. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a central location to explore Snowdonia with free parking.
