We stayed here for 3 nights in January 2012. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Kitanomine ski area, and since our primary reason for visiting Furano was to snowboard the location turned out to be fantastic. There is a 7-11 a couple of minutes walk downslope from the hotel as well as a decent number of bars and eateries within a 10 minute walking radius.
We did not book the rooms that came with breakfast but the rooms themselves were spacious. On the one clear day during our stay, we could see the Daisetsuzan mountain range from our window. The staff were also very helpful despite our limited knowledge of Japanese and their limited knowledge of English. My friends and I loved the onsite onsen, perfect for soothing aching muscles after a hard day on the slopes.
I suspect that we visited during the low season, and as a result we were able to check in early (noon) and check out a couple of hours late at no extra charge. The only 1 drawback I can think of is the fact that the hotel is a good 20-30minute walk to downtown (we decided to walk between the hotel and the JR Furano station instead of taking the Lavender Go bus and this took us about 45 minutes each way), but if hitting the slopes is your primary agenda I would definitely recommend staying at this place.
