This hotel was as expected built in the hillside, so as other reviews said the steps were the main downfall . As a older persom and a larger person l found by the end of the week it was a bit of a job .Now for the rest of the review the hotel isin lovely relaxing area lovely views. The food was very varied with plenty to choose from, in all meals rooms were very clean, and the staff were very plesant. We chose a bad week where it rained most days and there was abit of a flood on the Wednesday. Entertainment was quite poor, they did try but unfortunately it did not work.
We would go back if they put alift in.

I booked the Hotel Osmine for my Husbands Birthday, which was mentioned to the Hotel at the time of booking. We were given a room on the top floor in the Hotel, which was what I had requested, the views were amazing, and on his Birthday a bottle of wine was put in the room with a "Happy Birthday "note, which was a lovely surprise. The Hotel lived up to our expectations, lots of free bikes to use together with pedaloes and kayaks, which we never had to wait for.The food was good and always found something we liked. We already knew about the stairs but we didn't find them a problem, keeps you fit!!The staff were always pleasant and helpful. The village of Slano was very quiet ,a lovely ride on the bike.We booked a day trip to Montenagro which was well worth the early morning start. We booked our transfers to and from the UK with Dubrovnik travel and can really recommend them, payment was made on arrival at the Hotel and the return transfer was confirmed then and paid for at the airport. We met some great people there and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday ,we will return.

Room Tip: If you have difficulty walking its not for you, apart from the steps the slopes are quite steep. The...

We have just returned from the hotel Osmine in Slano Croatia, we will not be returning to the Osmine! The trip to Croatia by Monarch Airlines was excellent and to be highly recommended. However when we arrived at the Osmine we were presented with the key to a room in the annex building, even though we had paid a room supplement for a room with a sea view. When we challenged the reception person, his only response was " Hotel full, no upgrade available" we were shown to our room following our guide down a very steep slope, dragging our suitcases behind us, then we climbed two flights of stairs to a very dark corridor, our guide opened the door to our room, presenting us with a rabbit hutch bathroom which was so small I had to sit on the toilet to shave (please see the attached photo's). The room itself was clean and the maid kept it that way for the duration of our stay. When we opened the doors to our balcony my wife broke down in tears, at the view we were presented with, again see the photos. The view was the rear of the annex building and a cliff in front of the room.
There is a plus side to the Osmine the food is well cooked if not always as varied as it could be, the views are spectacular and the beach facilities very good, the all-inclusive does include the use of pedeloes, canoes etc. are free to use. The drinks are limited in variety but not in quantity, however if you don't mind drinking the locally produced alcohol it's ok. I would like to say that we may have been able to sort out the room issue if our Cosmos Rep was available; however during our ten days at the Osmine she was noticeable by her absence.
IF YOU GO TO THE OSMINE INSIST YOU STAY IN THE MAIN BUILDING. Friends we talked to in the main building were happy with the rooms, ours were in the ANNEX. To cut a long story short we will not be returning to the Osmine, however Slano & Croatia are definitely on my list of places to return to

Room Tip: Insist on a room in the main building.

Interesting place. Somewhat old fashioned rooms, with interesting plumbing: first time I have been in a hotel with a high-flush cistern. I think the whole place was probably built in the time of Tito, and boy, did they know how to use concrete! Having said that the location is wonderful, but a long flight of stairs down to the restaurant and then further to the beach. (Can also be reached by a winding asphalt path if you have a disability, but the incline is pretty steep.)

Nice beach with a bar, and free sun loungers/parasols.

Mainly German/Austrian guests, but I have no problem with that, as I am not a racist and in any case I speak German reasonably well now, so can blend in a bit. However, British guests might find the staff a bit taciturn: this is just a cultural thing. Please try to ignore it.

A friend traveling with us found her room had not been cleaned properly on the day of arrival.

Now, when i booked I saw it was "all inclusive". I have never done a trip like that before. The food was OK- served buffet style, and if you are going out for the day they will give you a picnic instead. However, I would not describe it as wonderful. Often not very hot, and the juices served are the re-constituted ones, so, really, what we in the UK call "Orange drink" rather than" Orange juice". However, the wine was TRULY AWFUL and there wasn't much choice in the way of spirits: just cheap local ones and a choice of about 5 I think. As far as I could see, there was no way of paying for a better quality wine, to go "A la cart" as it were, and several days we were out and about and just found a local Konuba for lunch. (Which were always great.) Better to get some wine in a shop I'd say, and keep it on the balcony in your room. (No min-bar/fridge though.) You can get a decent bottle of wine for c £3. Best deal I saw was 5l for £9- but I couldn't tell you what the quality was like!

However, when you think that the whole deal was about £65 per person per day, all in, it IS a good deal I'd say, when you look at the whole package, and well worth a few days' stay, particularly as it is close to, but away from Dubrovnik.

Room Tip: Make sure you are in the main building.

We spent a week here at the beginning of May 2013, travelling with Monarch and staying all inclusive. Our room had a wonderful view over the bay and the surroundings- lots of trees, walkways and places to sit, we thought were great. We enjoyed being away from it all, along the end of the coastal path, as this meant no traffic and a very quiet environment. The proximity to the beach was great, even though you did have to walk up those numerous steps. You also had to go down them and then back up to and from the restaurant, but hey, it burnt off a few calories!! The food was on the whole very good, but being a vegetarian, it did get a little repetitive and don't be fooled by the terms 'vegetable rissotto' or 'vegetable stew'- they will have meat in them, trust me I found it!! We enjoyed the variety and for my carnivorous partner, the variety of meat and fish was plenty. We walked into Slano or hired bikes most days and enjoyed visiting the few bars in the town. The all inclusive beer can get a bit boring after a while and its nice not to have to listen to the entertainment! On the whole, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would recommend this hotel to able bodied people, looking to get away from it all

Room Tip: Room 316 had a fab view

Just come back from two weeks in September at the Osmine and we were pleased to find that it is exactly as described. There are a lot of stairs as it's built into the hillside, but forewarned is forearmed, seats are available on the way up or down if you need to rest. We were impressed with the room (in the main hotel), with a bathroom, bedroom and lounge area, also a balcony overlooking the bay which gave us wonderful views day and night.

We took the minibus provided by the hotel to Dubrovnik and walked the city walls. Excellent service right to the entrance at Pile Gate and pick up back to the hotel. Certainly worth a visit, although again there are a number of steps to gain access to the walls.

This is a quite location and you are a captive audience, but if you want a relaxing break this exceeds expectations, don’t hesitate. The food was excellent with a good selection to choose from. We didn't have the same meal twice in the whole two weeks! Drinks are basic, but plentiful. The bay is beautiful with clear calm water and pedalos and canoes are available, just get in and go. There are also bicycles if you wish to cycle into the village which is a 30 minute stroll away. Or paths over the hillside if you are feeling more energetic. Evening entertainment is not really our thing, but something is available every evening if you want to be entertained. The hotel, food, staff exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to go back again.

Room Tip: If going to Dubrovnik ask your rep how many cruise ships are in the harbour as it gets really busy s...
