Althought the menu seems quite simple, everything we had was quite special, fresh and very tasty. It is recommended both for food and coffee.

The best pineapple juice in Nicaragua and very good coffee. They also offer fresh sallads with chicken or beef which are not so common in Central America. And excellent pastas! Nice open air location, friendly and attentive owners. Recommended!

My boyfriend and I stayed in El Castillo for four nights this Winter. We went to Borders at least once and day, and enjoyed the friendly owner's conversation, the excellent food, great coffee, and the coldest beers in town! Their hours are great (many places in El Castillo close very early).

After a week in Nicaragua eating great local food, a night in Borders made a nice change. The pasta was as good as any we have tasted in the world. It was beautifully cooked and very tasty. We both had the curry cream sauce with chicken. Sounds unusual but tasted amazing. Finished off with a great coffee. Very friendly service. Definitely recommend a visit if you need a great pasta fix.

I'm not sure why everyone raves about this place. The new location is incredibly hot and stuffy. Not a breath of a breeze since it's kind of tucked behind other buildings. We had a great smoothie kind of thing - no ice, sugar or water that was delicious but the food took forever (even by Nica standards) and wasn't all that great or copious. They had a pretty major attitude too. They wanted $7 for a used paperback (since I didn't have one to trade) which I thought was outrageous even if it was going to a good cause.

Anyway, we didn't go back. Found plenty of other great places in El Castillo and wasn't sure why this was supposed to be so special. I was underwhelmed.
