Alfred our host could' not have been more helpful.He collected us assisted us with our luggage and even stocked the fridge and at the end of our stay he took us back to the airport.
The house itself was a beautiful traditional Maltese property.Downstairs there is a kitchen dining area and spacious modern shower room with a washing machine. Up a beautiful stone staircase fitted with a gate at the top should you require it for safety reasons, you come to two lovely bedrooms 1 twin and 1 double with a small balcony both very comfortable and providing everything you need. The house is very well equipped and the host is always on hand should you require any assistance.
Alfie's place is located in a quaint street up some steps but the pics are misleading they are very wide Maltese steps making them extremely easy to climb. It's very near to the main square where you can find anything you may need. There is a variety of stores and also a collection of bars and cafe's. Around the corner from the square you find the Marina and Grand Harbour where you can catch the ferry to Valletta.
The local sandy beach is a ten minute bus ride away or you can swim off the quay if you prefer..
If you want to experience the real Malta BIrgu/Vittoriosa is a must. The Maltese people are so friendly and they cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. From neighbours,staff in the bars restaurants to just people you pass in the street there is always a friendly greeting..

We had a lovely break in Malta; Alfie's place is perfectly located on a beautiful quiet street in the heart of Birgu, close to the bus stop and the three cities ferry terminal in Bormla, as well as shops, bars and restaurants. Alfie's place is well-equipped, clean, well-presented, full of character, and Alfie himself is very helpful, generous, professional and thoughtful. Perfect break in magical place, thanks to Alfie!

Just back from a week spent in lovely Birgu. Alfie's place was very comfortable, well-equipped and convenient, and only a couple of minutes from the main square with some nice places to eat and drink. It also made an ideal base for exploring Malta, as it's easy to get to Valetta either by bus or with the small 'three cities' ferry. Alfie was a friendly and helpful host who really went out of his way to make us feel welcome :)

Location is excellent, a close walk to Birgu's central square, to the Harbour/Maritime Museum and to the bus stop, where you can go pretty much everywhere in Malta by commuting at the central bus terminal outside Valletta.

The house itself is charming, as one can see by the photos. Certainly an authentic Maltese experience for those interested in the cultural/historical side of things.

Alfie is an excellent host, was on time to meet us at the airport and gave us a nice introduction to Birgu. Plenty of useful tourist information, leaflets, guides, etc., inside the house and excellent wifi. Also, the Birgu City Council is just a few steps away fo getting a parking permit if a car is hired.

All in all, a great property in an excellent and authentic location well off the beaten path and a very reasonable price. Will be back many times. Thanks, Alfie!

A wonderful home house in the center of Vittoriosa, quiet and cozy. Inside is everything you need to spend an excellent vacation. From Vittoriosa can be reached with ease, all areas of Malta.
Alfred is an unmatched hospitality. Amenable with their guests and kind in helping them to spend unforgettable days.

I cannot rate this highly enough! The accommodation was fantastic with two beautiful bedrooms, one twin for the teenagers which had the most stunning arched ceiling and a lovely large double room with a small balcony overlooking the lovely street outside. Downstairs was a kitchen/dining area and a spacious shower room. Alfie had stocked the fridge with basics for us and there was tea, coffee, sugar and milk, all very much appreciated. We visited to assist in firing a display for the Malta international firework festival, our display was postponed and Alfie was so helpful and accommodating and assisted us with an extra nights stay and also transport to the airport. There is a lovely square for meals and coffee/beer just at the end of the street where it is lovely to sit out in the sunshine and the waterfront/marina is just a few minutes away. This is a lovely, traditional Matese house in a historic area don't hesitate to book!
