“A Sinkhole!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

Another adventure in Siargao is to visit Magpupunko in the Municipality of Pilar. This is a natural sinkhole which is actually in a beach! The rock formation in this area is absolutely stunning! But be careful and wear your slippers as these rocks are razor sharp! But the sinkhole is a natural swimming pool! You can dive from the tip of the rock formation down to the pool!

“Nature-made Pools! only visible during the low tide”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Going to Magpupungko Beach takes more than an hour from the Town of Gen. Luna where Cloud 9 is. If your a group I suggest renting out a Car or Van over a motorcycle as the trip is really far and the roads are not yet completed. It was a long bumpy and dusty ride. To truly appreciate the Nature-made Pools go on low tide. You can then swim inside the pools or just hangout by the steps of the pools. Its a rare sight since its not often you see natural pools like these. The beach is also nice and the waters are clear.

“The journey is the reward”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2012

As some other comments state: the beach itself with its occuring water holes during low tide (you do not have to match low tide perfectly approx +/- 1.5 hrs is sufficient to have fun in the water hole) is nice, but not a "never seen". However, my wife and me rented to motor bikes and experienced the varying undergrounds to travel on. We found completely empty roads - not the usual, close-to-suiside drivers like in other parts of Philippines - and went through beautiful landscape. We enjoyed the journey more the the goal.
So, jump on your bike and have fun!

“Cool little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

It was a bit too long a drive from Gen Luna, but good for an hour or two's relaxing and jumping of the rocks
