We visited this hotel during Easter weekend and from the time we went in we felt that something missing from all the awesome reviews that we’ve read before making the booking.. soon we realized that they were short staffed.. we neither got the welcome drink nor the hot/cold towels that were mentioned in the previous reviews.. but the receptionist/duty manager was kind enough to upgrade us to a pool/lake view villa which was great..

The rooms were clean and had all the necessary amenities. The bed was really comfortable to sleep in and we all had a good nights sleep.

The let down was the food.. it was neither good nor bad!! We were in a confused state after having all 3 meals.. it was like eating home cooked meal with a soup cubes and possibly MSG added to enhance taste (we don’t use taste enhances at home). Since we didn’t see anyone resembling a head chef it is safe to bet that he/she must have taken time off after the busy avurudu season.. which is a bummer coz we were looking forward to the delicious meals that the reviewers promised 😜

They do offer some additional activities like kayaking and boat rides to the neighboring islands.. not the best kayaking spot in SL as the kayaking area is very limited coz they advice not to go near the islands coz of the crocodiles. They do have a beach area across the road for all the beach bodies 😎

Hopefully we will have a better experience next time(if we decide to go again)

What the hotel had to offer us for the nominal price we paid was unbelievable. The staff members who smiled all the time made sure we were having a wonderful time. The chef personally did table rounds to ensure the guests ‘ expectations of food were met. We were also given a lake checkout free of charge. The cleanliness of the premises including the nice swimming pool overlooking the lagoon was maintained satisfactorily. The beach was right across the road where there were other bars and restaurants. Such an ideal escape for locals and foreigners alike to relax within one and a half hours’ drive from Colombo.

We've just checked out from this amazing resort and me and my wife have had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back again. Upon arrival, we've been welcomed with a cold towel and refreshments and thereon everything started happening as all the staff were so friendly and professional. Very attentive, bright smile on faces, always tried their best to exceed our expectations. Location was so picturesque facing Koggala lake and resort has its own private beach within 2 minutes walking distance as well. Very clean and spacious rooms, facilities were exceptional and enough amenities were placed as well. I really love this place and if anyone needs a break, this is one place on Earth that I always recommend.
