A real nice resort hotel that offers a very courteous and friendly service all around. Staff goes out of their way to give a personalized service and provide for any special needs. The gentleman in charge personally interacts with guests to inquire if their needs are met.

The food was tasty and the presentation interesting. They use a healthy selection of natural ingredients in the preparation.

The room was furnished with high quality fittings, had tea/coffee service, free bottled water and a complementary fruit platter. The free WiFi was rather slow in the chalets but good in the main building. The room air conditioner was effective and exceptionally silent and did not disturb us in the nights.

Located just off the main Galle-Matara trunk road and bordering the scenic Madol Duwa Lake, it is surprisingly quiet. Boat rides are available from the hotel to visit the famous mangrove island and places of interest.

Our 3 day stay during mid week where occupation was low, offered a fair variety of food. Being in operation about a year, the initial issues have been largely resolved and the hotel is coming of age!

Room tip: 'Pond view' costs less but is quieter. The lake can be viewed by walking across to the pool side.

After doing my research online , I managed to book South Lake for short stay, from the entrance itself we been treated nicely, every single person works with awesome Sri Lankan smile and they are truly willing to help without been lazy, one thing made me realized that from the time of hotel construction to service everything is properly planned and design and facilities meet global hotel standards in many ways , you get proper warnings for hazards, hotel rooms contain almost every features and every detail is well designed, assume everything was done according to hotel compliance and I clearly noted the difference compare to typical design and proper compliance.
when it come to food we got morning buffet and Ala crate for lunch & dinner, food selection is not huge but it contain all basic food types such as western, Asian, etc, at the moment they do not serve alcohol due to legal restrictions but the management told me that they have requested for licence and they will be getting it soon,
hotel is not located near the beach but you can simply cross the main road and walk towards the beach in seconds, overall hotel is not just an ideal option for weekends, I was told they had number of long stay guests visiting the place, overall hotel do have all physical facilities and awesome people at work, we were so thankful to the staff who made our stay memorable.

Room tip: 4 rooms near the pool do have the best view

I had a short stay in South Lake Resort with my family. Honestly it was a superb leisure spend-over. Food was really nice and up to the standards. The price was very reasonable and the staff was very much friendly. I think I should go there once again for a much longer stay. The environment and the surroundings are the best for a great relaxation.
Rooms are fitted with modern equipment and nicely arranged.
This is true value for money !

Room tip: Pond view rooms are the best !

I'm here now. Stayed just one night. This is a nice place if you want to relax after some busy days. Had a great welcome when we got there. Staff is very friendly and deliver your needs on time. Food is also very delicious. You can choose either Sri Lankan food or western food. There is a lake beside the hotel and you can have a boat ride too. This breeze just relaxes us and you can have a clean fantastic breath. Have a nice stay here!
