Located very close to the park we decided to drop by for lunch before setting off on our safari. We pre ordered from their sister resort Athgira river camping, who promoted it given our plans to visit the elephant transit home at 12pm and then set off on safari which made sense without having to back track. We asked for rice and curry lunch wrapped in banana leaf. What a treat it was, the banana leaf wrapping was so neatly and beautifully done. Our enthusiasm missed that important photo of it. At least 5 types of fresh vegetable curries included which were outstanding in taste and suitable for locals or foreigners with just the right amount of chili. To top it off the prawn curry, fried lake fish and chicken curry was fabulous. The flavour off the banana leaf wrap is super. Took the opportunity to have a look around the hotel, small compact hotel with nice swimming pool and the rooms were of a very good standard, spacious, AC, clean toilets. Would definitely recommend a stay if you are visiting the park and elephant transit home given the location and standard of accommodation and of course the food. Kudos to the chef :-)

We booked elephant trail as our plans changed whilst we were in Sri Lanka. We were pleasantly surprised as this hotel was so good! The staff especially Amilya were extremely attentive and went the extra mile. The food blew us away! Better than a couple of restaurants we had been to! The room was spacious and we were only a ten min drive from the safari and elephant orphanage. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Seriously so good for the money!

Nice room. Clean. Good bathroom. Fan too noisy (hums loudly) for night. Pool is big enough for swimming. Menu was not vegetarian but once we asked they came to our room and took a special offer. We had four dishes with rice including banana curry. Very nice.
