The drive to Wild Yala is an experience in itself. Pot holes, ruts, animals. A glimpse of The Indian Ocean, crocodiles, wild boar, tortoise, Indian Beaters, Spotted Dear.
It was love at first sight.
Our driver, Safran pointed out all the wildlife on route, and we were luck to get a fleeting sight of a rare bird.
And then to arrive at the lovely hotel.
Gorgeous accommodation and our bed had mosquito nets! Sumptuous soft bed, with the roar of The Indian Ocean in the background, and monkeys on the roof in the morning!
Food that was fantastic.
An awesome experience!

My husband and I (this was our honeymoon!) only had the pleasure of staying here for just one night but I didn't want to leave! We had travelled from Kandy and had been on Safari that morning so when we arrived we were greeted with a cool towel and a refreshing drink, very nice. We had booked this hotel on a HB basis but we were told we could stay as FB guests and enjoyed an A la carte lunch which was gorgeous. We stayed in a jungle chalet which was actually a small bungalow on stilts. The chalet was beautiful, spotlessly clean and a real treat. We had been in our chalet for all of 15 minutes when the monkeys came to check us out..... very entertaining jumping up and down on the roof of the chalet and showing off in the trees outside. This went on for about half an hour but they soon settled down..... so funny. That night having enjoyed a delicious meal we went on a night Safari although we didn't see much a couple of rabbits lol we had a quick gin and tonic and made our way back to our chalet. Slept beautifully. First class, give it a whirl.

i am hotel owner in italy(174 rooms), and i have been travelling everywhere so i must be honest and short. : quality of food not so good even if there are many choise, rooms ok , swimmingpool normal, staff..some people are good some not, night safary i did it and was just funny i paid 50 dollars(cause they made me discount , normally is 70 dollars) to see the same animals you can see in the lake infront of the hotel in day time for free , so my advise is not pay for that , you will never see a leopard as they can tell you...i couldn't get inside YALA PARK CAUSE IN SEPTEMBER IS CLOSE ! SO DO NOT NEED TO GO IN THIS HOTEL IN SEPTEMBER IN MY OPINION, in any case even if park was close around the hotel is very wild : crocodile-buffalo-wild pig-birds and elephants can be easy to spot. finally hotel is ok. but no gym, no spa, no massage...they said the spa will be open soon...but i do not know for shore...

Thank you for sharing your review on Tip Advisor following your recent stay with us. We have noted your comments on the food and room and will certainly look into improving our product and service offerings further. The park is closed in the month of September as it is the mating season and the wildlife authorities wanted to ensure that the animals are not disturbed during this period. This information should have been communicated to you by your travel agent, and we apologize that you were inconvenienced as a result of not being notified of this prior to your arrival. We thank you sincerely for your valuable feedback and do hope to have you with us again for a more memorable stay.

This is my Second visit to the Hotel. It was so great to be back. Wonderful. The food as super as before. The rooms - very comfortable. The wild life around us AWESOME.
Keerthi the AM Operations made us feel very welcome. Thank you to you and your team.
I travelled with my family. I have two little ones. The elder is 2 1/2 years and the younger is just 06 months. They too can have a great time. It is very comfortable and safe. The staff patrol the hotel and ensure that almost all serpents on the property are removed and relocated deep into the jungle. There is a water hole just next to the pool and there you can witness quite a few animals coming to have a drink. We had a chance of witnessing over 50 wild boar coming for a drink in the evening.
one word of caution - Don't worry this has nothing to do with the hotel - AVOID THE BUNDALA ROAD at all cost. It is in really BAD shape. It took me 02 hours to cover less than 40KMs. I could have done that in less than 45 Mts had I taken the Tissamaharama road.

All in all - The best experience of the Wild with all the comforts.

Until Next Time - Cinnamon Wild....
Until then Keep up your GOOD work. Wishing you all the best

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a large family and would like to have them close to you request for connecting rooms. They solve a lot of issues especially if you want to keep a close eye on the kids.

We travelled from Kataragama via Situlpawwa where the road spreads through the jungle(Yala). On our way we saw some rare animals like fox & deer. The location is ideal for relaxing and animal watching. Also hospitalities are absolutely great.
