Nice place for staying. Well done housekeepers, very tasty and fresh breakfasts, helpful and good looking receptions, very nice services (swimming pool, sauna, hamam, gym, free wifi, bar etc). But very bad soundproofing.

I spent two weeks in the Nur Plaza and I could not wait to leave. At first glance the hotel looks OK. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. It is a large hotel and you may find yourself walking a long way to your room. The staff, with the exception of the front desk are really unhelpful. 10 people were looking to have breakast 15 minutes early as they had a bus to catch every day and only had 15 minutes to eat breakfast. The staff just refused, no explanation was offered. It was just easier to say no. Some problems were due to language issues, but mostly they were due to people who could not be bothered.
The price of food was very high and sometimes uneatable. All in all very poor and not recommended.
Hotel is spacious and has got everything you need. You have to consider that you are not in NYC and the rates that they apply are perfect for such hotel. Restaurant is amazing, probably best in the city. I will definitely come back again.
I expected too much. After I was very disappointed. Everything looks and is cheap. Tiny bathroom. Inappropriate bath items. Not noise-isolated rooms. Noisy events on 4th floor right next to rooms. Boring breakfast. No freshly fried eggs and omelet to order. Restaurant offers diverse of kebabs.
A modern and spacious hotel with all facilities including gym, sauna, outside pool, etc all in very good order. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed, again all was in very good decorative order. A second card is supplied so you can leave the air conditioning/electric on whilst you are out! Free WiFi is provided in the rooms which is OK for emails, etc! All staff where very friendly, courteous and helpful. The restaurant food is top class and I do recommend you try!
However a big negative, as well as the restaurant there is also a breakfast hall in which breakfast and business lunches are served. Unfortunately the food are poorly prepared and look a few days old i.e. meat curling at the edges, fruit and salad drying out! Totally unappetizing in fact it just awful...avoid! I would have given this hotel a 5 rating but a quality breakfast is a must in any hotel!
The complex itself is a little out of town (30-20 min walk) but the taxis are very cheap, hotel can provide you with a English speaking driver from the local cab company.
Stayed in the hotel for six nights when working in Aktau. It was a very pleasant stay, clean, comfortable setting. Room was pleasant with good aircon. Restaurant food was very good, service was fine. Prices cheaper than Astana. Hotel pool was a good size for a swim. Every effort was made to speak to us in English, even the two young men at breakfast time who said have a nice day in unison:) Overall we were pleasantly surprised. Thank you.
