Villa Fibbino
Reviewed July 30, 2012

We really have met an Angel. Her name is Anna Ferdinandi. Anna is the owner of Villa Fibbino in Castiglion Fosco. A villa with a few appartments and a little number of comfortable rooms. Nice deigned with very good beds. Anna and Villa Fibbino give a very good feeling. It feels like home.
In the evening Anna offers the possibility to make use of a very good four courses dinner with lovely wines. She cookes by herselves and with a lot of devotion. Of course you are free to go outside but we can tell you that it is very attractive to have dinner in Villa Fibbino. Anna's cooking is delicious! Further on Villa Fibbino offers a nice big flowered garden with also a great view all around and a swimmingpool with unusual sices, about 18 x 8m(?), maybe even more. An outside bar where you can take coffee and other drinks and so more. In short we have felt us coddled. Thank you Anna for all. It was a great honnor to be your guest. It is needless to say: "with pleasure till a next time".

Anna is an unbelievable chef. Words will not do her justice. I have traveled quite a bit around the world and have eaten in the full spectrum of dining classes; she is among the best. The views are incredible and the peacefulness of the area is so relaxing.

Although a little difficult to find at first, this is a real gem in the hills of Umbria. The rooms are very comfortable. We stayed in Piensalto and Pietramonella. Each room was well-appointed, with a large comfy bed. Breakfast is included, and it is great. usually freshly baked delicacies are included along with many of the local staples (proscuitto, cheeses, rolls, fruits, etc.). If you wish to stay close, they will also offer lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. We were so impressed with the dinner the first night that we ate dinner there all four nights. Anna is a gourmet cook (her "hobby"), and the staff is delightful - even Audrey, the coccker spaniel! As for proximity to nearby sights, Orvieto is an easy (yet windy) 80 minute drive, Perugia is less than an hour, and Assisi perhaps 90 minutes.

best stay ever, combination of quietness in a nature reserve, people who are the gentleness themselves, an excellent cook, and the possibility to go to the most beautiful places on the world. Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto and more, everything within 1 or 1,5 hour reach.
On the days you decided to stay home, there is a large swimming pool in a beautiful garden, there is an overwhelming friendly (small) dog (I happen to not like dogs very much, but this happy creature cannot be resisted), and at the end of the day, there is a 4 course dinner and excellent wines, in an atmosphere created by Anna, who is apart from a creative good cook a lovely person. She made us feel like we were on a honeymoon trip.
The question is not when to go back next year, but could we not find a long weekend this year ... ?

We spent a wonderful 10 days in this hidden jewel of a hotel in magical Umbria. What can we say? Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, great outside views and wonderful Umbria cuisine ( Anna, the owner, has a sister who is an Umbrian culinary specialist).

This farmhouse Umbria hotel is set into an ideal pastoral setting on a hillside and surrounded by ancient woods. There are 7 rooms and a maximum of 24 guests, so the atmosphere is very cosy. All rooms have a grand view of Mount Peglia and its nature park. You can contact Villa Fibbino by calling [--] or visit their nice website on www.villafibbino.com.

If you’re looking for a place where you can feel at home… you’ve found it!
Structure is beautiful and with a great attention to details. Bedrooms are comfortably furnished and pleasantly decorated. The swimming pool is large and very well fit out.
Stefano and Anna are simply wonderful, always ready to help and advise you. Moreover, you will surely remember Anna’s cooking. It’s great to wake-up with a delicious smell of cakes just took out of the oven.
So, if you want to relax and forget everyday life, this is the right place to spend your holiday!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Villa Fibbino with another couple in April 2007. The owners, Anna and Stephano, have devoted 15 years of their lives to restoring this site in the Umbrian hills to its current magnificance. We stayed in the Trettobaldo unit which was perfect for 4 adults. The breakfasts and dinners were culinary delights. The views and gardens were beautiful. Our hostess, Anna, besides being a great chef, was gracious, generous, helpful, patient, etc.----one couldn't meet a nicer person. Would we stay there again? Absolutely!
