My wife my son and myself we stayed at the Anema hotel this past August for six nights and all we can say the place was wonderfull. Toula and Diamandis treat us like family and the rest of the staff was verry nice as well. The place is verry clean and the service at the restaurant and the pool bar is second to none. We will definitely go back again

Family owned and operated by an extremely nice couple Diamond and Toula. We spent 21 nights there in a lovely quiet cool room on the 3rd floor with a view of the pool and the spectacular Aegean Sea. You can walk to the port where all the Tavernas are located. There is a beach across the street as well as the Anema's own taverna. They serve many great traditional greek specialities as well as pizza etc.

Room Tip: Recommend the 3rd floor, quieter and cooler. Our room did not have a double bed so we had to put the...

Excellent. The owners remembered us and made us very welcome, going out of their way to ensure our comfort and enjoyment including making available coffee and a simple breakfast when they had advised that the kitchen was not operating in the low season. They also drove us to the bus stop on the morning of our departure. We will definitely go back. Andrea and Chris Lawson Derbyshire U.K.

We spent 3 nights over Greek Easter holidays at this family run property and could not have wanted anything more! The hotel is set back a bit from the sea, which makes it quiet and the balconies afford fantastic views of the sunset and surrounding hills. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and they own a little taverna across the street which is directly on the beach - great food at great prices! Our hostess Toula could not have been more helpful. Her effervescent personality is contagious and she made us feel like part of her lovely family. Toula invited us as guests to enjoy an Greek Easter picnic, which we were most disappointed to have to decline, but Toula surprised us with some special Easter bread called Tsoureki! They have several turtles on the property that were rescued from the devasting fires a few years ago, and it was intereting to learn how Toula and her husband actually took in several wildlife creatures rescued from the wild during this terrible fire. There are laundry facilites on site, and Toula can make arrangements for guided tours and hikes, as well as offering several tourist related services. If your travels take you to Karlovassi, Anema Sea Hotel/Apartments will provide all your travel needs with outstanding Greek hospitlity! Thank you again Toula for being such an ambassador of Samos!!

We were 36 Danish bridgeplayers at this pleasant apartment hotel from September 8 to 15. Extremely friendly and helpful personnel everywhere. I had reserved one of the few large apartments with morning sun. This involved view to the mountains - and the tennis court next to a parking lot - so we changed to another similar apartment with a view to the sea but then only sun on the balconies from approx 4 pm. Everywhere extremly clean and tidy, the apartments are also cleaned every day. Even if we had dinner at the hotel's beach restaurant 5 days we were served very good and different very local dishes each time. Smiling and very efficient staff. The small island is beautiful with the high mountains and many beaches with crystal clear water. Karlovasi is a rather big town with few tourists, so the whole atmosphere is very local Greek. A drive across the island to f.inst Hereon (the Hera Temple) along rather narrow roads in the mountains maybe with a stop at the monestry Megali Panagia and further 12 km to more touristic Phytagorio and Vathi/Samos and back along the coast gives you a perfect idea of the beautiful island.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view to the sea and next to the pool and pool bar have no sun before approx 4 pm. If y...

I spent a week at the Anema by the Sea July 2012 and it was great. Everything I was looking for. Super staff, great food, and Clean! All that at an affordable rate. The hotel is set back a little bit from the sea. You can sit on your balcony and watch the sunset. The restaurant is right on the beach and it is also very good and very affordable. The pool is very clean and perfect for a very early or very late night dip. There was a small refrigerator in the room and two heating elements for snacks and simple meals. Very handy. The hotel has parking if you rent a car.
The hosts are very accommodating and extremely friendly. I would definitely return. Near by there is an amazing beach called Potami. What a view. The boats arrive at Karlovassi port which is not far from the apts. Samos Town is about an hour away and the airport a bit further but by boat from Pireus it's very close. The island is very green and renting a car to get around is ideal. This apartment hotel is excellent for the adventurous who want to create their own holiday experience at reasonable rates. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool and sea may be more expensive but worth the view in my opinion.

We travelled to Samos for a friend's wedding and stayed at the Amena. The location was perfect - the hotel is set back slightly from the seafront. As well as the hotel, there is a restaurant and bar on the sea front which is part of Amena and as guests we received 10% discount on the bill. The standard of the food was excellent. Perfect setting on the beach and not too far to walk from the port which also has lovely restaurants. The walk to centre of town is about 20 minutes. The hotel has a nice pool and bar. There is a children's play centre adjacent to the hotel - this was closed as we travelled during school time, but the facilities looked very good for young children. The room standard was good. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would stay here again if I return to Samos.
