“Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

This cafe has seating outside (which is great in the sun) and inside. The menu is good and priced in the middle of the range. I liked my duck confit and the draught beer. The escargots were good too.

“Delicious lunch!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

I've eaten here several times over the years and have always enjoyed delicious food. Yesterday, an amazing, freshly prepared courgette, garlic, lemongrass and ginger soup - fabulous. Followed by medallions of porc with red cabbage and prune and roast potatoes. We passed on desert and cheese but our kir were perfect and so was the wine (they have a great wine list). Lovely coffee.

It was a little chilly but the owner moved a heater beside us and put more logs on the fire.

This is an upscale place in a beautiful square in a lovely village. I've read some of the other reviews and a few are pretty negative. This restaurant would suit you if you really appreciate good quality, fresh food and excellent wine but you're unphased by relaxed service.

We got a chance to try out our French in this lovely Bistro at the edge of the market square. Food and wine was really good!

“I will not return!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

The food is ok, nothing to rave about in a county known wildly for its excellent food. It was a bit chilly so we sat inside. We both had duck which although tasted ok, was very pink inside and a bit cold. I know you can eat duck slightly underdone but that was not cooked enough. When i asked to have it done a bit more, I was sneered at !!!!! The foie gras starter and charcuterie starter were ok, but it's difficult to screw that up! The toilets were a disgrace, the table a bit tacky to the touch, the glasses not terribly clean. The coffee is very good however.

“A pleasant lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

Having lunched at Café M the same September week it got two good and one stinging review I can clear up some of the confusion. A single waiter was valiantly trying to serve too many tables. I hadn’t yet read the service complaint but did ask him why he didn’t have assistance. He explained that the other server is in her latter days of pregnancy and taking some time off.

Prices are reasonable here and the kitchen takes extra effort. The Caprese Salad was excellent; buffalo mozzarella framed with both green and red basil. The main dish included a garnish of roasted peppers. You do have to go inside to pay but the place is an art gallery with a show of paintings by noted New York artist, John Griefen. We spent more time at lunch than planned, but the setting, under umbrellas in a Medieval town square, is a place to linger.
