“Too expensive for entrance fee”

Yueyang Pavilion (Yueyang Lou)
Reviewed May 27, 2014

Yueyang Lo is a must for tourists to Yueyang but the entrance fee of RMB 80 per person is bit expensive since there is no additional ancient relics or structure to see inside the compound . There is no English comment available in the tower. Outside the compound , there is a walled like fortress structure and gates which look impressive .

I visited this beautiful area this time last year, on a sunny day with blue sky. Yes it really was blue.
There is a car park with a tourist alley one side for all your souvenirs and somewhere to eat. Good food, and no hard sell for once. I enjoyed myself.
Then for a modest fee on the other side of the car park, we went through to look at the tower, which includes many attractions.
There are brass models of the earlier versions of the tower, a house, with displays about the tower and its supporters over the centuries.
Many inscriptions in stone for those interested in Chinese calligraphy, and more.
A small building where the women used to sit during the day and do their needlecraft. Now you can buy examples of what they used to make.
Then climb the tower for breathtaking views of Dongting Lake. Its not that the tower is tall, but the view itself.
There's also a small buddhist temple below the tower if you're that way inclined.

The view of the place is so good and the best view from this place is you must go to third floor of the biggest building there and you can see Dongting lake from that building. And then there a big wall with poem from famous poem author in China.
