Had great holiday at the Marriott St Kitts. Although service a little slow its the way of life. Golf course excellent and empty most of the time. Local scenery great but would advise a tour of the island by a local who knows the area. Went with a great guy called Winston 'Eddy' 663 3466. His cars are luxury and has very good knowledge of the island. Cost about 80$ for three hours much cheaper than the hotel tours.

We aim to please and it seems we were right on target during your time with us. We have the only course in the Caribbean boasting holes on the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea; did you get a chance to check out the views from the 15th hole? It is absolutely spectacular! Eddy is an absolute delight and we always get rave reviews from guests who have been on his tours. As an FYI just outside of the lobby posted on the wall, our doormen can assist if needed, you will find a full list of the cost of the taxis and the tours they provide. We hope to see you again in the future.

We arrived at the hotel at night and we were supposed to have an ocean view one bedroom but it was dark so we could not tell that it was not an ocean view room, and upon check in the clerk specifically said we had an ocean view room. The room was very large and from the terrace one could see a small piece of the ocean but mostly we were in the front of the hotel, facing the buildings of the Royal Hotel, across the street. Definitely not ocean view. Next morning I asked at the desk about switching to an ocean view room. First we were shown an ocean view room on the first floor which I had specifically requested that we not be placed in as I had read on trip advisor that there was a wall which obstructed view. We looked at that room and refused the room. When I refused that room the woman at the front desk handed me over to her supervisor who was going to look for an ocean view room in the computer also. Later in the day I checked back with the supervisor who informed me that there was not a room and at that point I suggested that they lower our rate since we were not told that we did not have an ocean view and since they were not going to be able to move us, and we had paid for an ocean view room. That person then said that I should check back in a hour as they were going to try to find us an ocean view room. Sure enough by dinner time we were shown an ocean view on the fifth floor which was perfect. The supervisor even threw in a cot (no charge)for one of my kids as the previous room had two queen beds and this room had one king plus sofa bed. I think her name was Linda and she was very nice and very generous about the cot which I believe is an extra $20.00 per day. The staff were very friendly and although I've read others comment about toiletries being scarce and towels too we did not have any problem. We always had more than enough towels and toiletries.
The best thing about this hotel was the beach. The water was beautiful turquoise blue and clean and there was always a breeze. There are lots of shelters on the beach but if you don't get out early to reserve it is hard to secure one. Probably need to get out by 8AM to get one after 9AM it is unlikely to reserve. Same is true at the pool, re: chairs. We thought the beach at the hotel was better than the Carribean beaches. We ate in several of the restaurants (Blue, Steakhouse, and poolside) at the hotel and all were good, although pricey. Coffee and muffins could be had at the cafe in the morning. I used the gym everyday in the morning and they could use some better eliptical machines and newer recumbent bikes, otherwise the gym was fine. The staff were all very nice and always seemed helpful. I would definitely stay there again if we returned to the island.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are nicer re: view and definitely want to be facing the pool which would also make the room ocean view. The rooms in the front of the building are facing the street and there is a lot of construction going on across the street from the entrance to the hotel.

Hello NyCindy

Am glad that our staff was able to turn what seems to have started off a bit rocky, into a very a pleasant and enjoyable stay for you and your family. I will definitely send a note to the Front Office team especially Lois for her great work. We do have staff on the beach and around the pools assisting with chairs if needed so don’t worry about reserving chairs, there is always plenty available. Thanks for the praise of our beach, we conduct daily maintenance and work closely with a local organization in ensuring it is always perfect for you our wonderful guests. Nice to hear that you still to the time to get your daily workout you would be pleased to know that new equipment for the gym is en-route. You also highlighted our staff and for that we would like to say a special “Thank You” as they are the stars of our resort. Once again thank you for joining us and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

The greeting in the tropical open air lobby said it all. I was met at the door with a cold refreshing wash cloth and a complimentary cold draft Carib beer -- all before I even checked in. This hotel rocks!

Check-in went smoothly. I was upgraded to an ocean view room in the main building. The room was large and comfortable. The king size mattress was a bit soft for my taste, as were the feather pillows. The bathroom was spacious. It comes with a bidet, if that's your thing. There was plenty of space on the marble sink top. The room was equipped with a dry bar, mini fridge and coffee maker. The coffee they provided was incredibly good. Better than the stuff they sold in the coffee shop!

There was a lot of storage space, great lighting and the air conditioning was top notch.

The balcony was the largest I have ever seen in a standard sized hotel room. I held a party in the room one night and ten people sat there comfortably! The balcony also had a nice (albeit distant) view of the ocean. I could watch sunrise from my balcony about 6:45 in the morning.

The only downside to the room was the noise. I was in the main building, and the open air design of the building meant noise carried. It was really only a problem when a band played in the lobby bar (Three nights while I was there). It sounded like the band was playing in my room!

Pool was fantastic, with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. There is a large unheated "hot tub." There was a swim-up bar in the pool and a separate bar close to the beach, although they did not have poolside beverage waiters. You had to walk up to the bar to get a drink.

The gym is open 24/7 and has a great variety of cardio and weight machines.

Staff was friendly. Only one or two people had their hand out expecting a tip. One literally put her hand out and said, "What you gonna do for me?" She was the exception to the rule.

All in all a great hotel and a great experience!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper ask for a room outside the main building, so you don't have to listen to the lobby band playing all night.

Hello there TVDad

After a long day of travel offering a local beverage, fruit punch or carib beer and a cold scented towel is the perfect way to say “Welcome to our Resort”. We are happy that you liked it! Sorry that you did not find the wait staff around the pool and beach areas as they are constantly roaming taking drink and food orders back and forth from the beach bar, as we try to make it more conducive for you to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. As to the question you were asked, we are very sorry to hear this, please accept our apology; this was indeed the exception to the rule. Fortunately the rest of the staff was happy to showcase our hospitality and ensured that you enjoyed your time here with us, we hope that you can join us again in the future.

The Saint Kitts Marriott is our favorite island resort. The island is peaceful and has not been spoiled by too much tourism. We have been to this resort approximately 15 times since a month after the resort opened approximately 11 years ago. There was a renovation 2 years ago for the villas. The grounds are lush with beautiful tropical plantings. There are three pools, one with the typical resort activities as well as two quiet peaceful lovely pools. All are well maintained. One suggestion would be to have more umbrellas at the quiet pools. There are many different types of accommodations in the main hotel as well in several villa buildings. La Cucina restaurant is good with good service and a relaxed atmosphere. Lunch at the golf course is always good and has a lovely outdoor deck overlooking the course and the ocean. The little pizza shack is acceptable for a small snack or pizza. The absolute best part of this resort is the staff. The people are so friendly, eager to please, well trained and sincere.

The St Kitts Marriott Resort certainly lives up to Marriott standards. The pool area and grounds were well maintained, clean and attractive. We only ate at one of the restaurants, but the food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating to our needs and requests. The entertainment staff made the afternoons fun with guests particiapation around the pool/beach areas. A special thanks to "ICE". The people working at the resort were friendly for the most part, the bar tenders at and near the swimming pool, well, that's another story. Overall, it was a pleasant stay on a beautiful island, definitely would stay there again.
