We stayed at the St Kitts Marriott from Christmas through New Years. We had a great time. Special thank you to Lois for the complimentary upgrade to a Royal Ocean Suite. Everybody at the hotel was extremely friendly and welcoming. Everyone stopped to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The only meals we ate at the hotel were the Christmas brunch and New Year's Eve party- both were delicious. The beach was wonderful- plenty of beach chairs as well as shaded huts- all complimentary. We enjoyed all the meals we ate on the island- particularly noteworthy were Kathy's on the strip and Sprat Net. Don't hesitate to visit this special island and hotel.

No island time here! Service was great at all of the dining facilities with much to select from. General Manager was out walking the grounds at 6 every morning to insure maintainence. Golf course was in great shape w/ choice of tee times. Marshalls and Ciao great for off premise dining..Spice Mill great for lunch w/ view of Nevis. Hotel employees helpful and friendly. Fun casino! Quality full service resort that is working hard to provide a nice experience. Anyone who complains about this facility..should stay home!

Wow. This place is incredible. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and definitely feels like a lush tropical garden. The rooms are lovely as well. Great value. We had an ocean view, so I can't complain. And the food was excellent everywhere we ate. Love the bakery area , oh and you must try the lobster roll and the guava ribs. Simply out of this world. Definitely going back!!

Nov 12 - Nov 19, 2011 We had 3 basic rooms booked through an Interval Getaway vacation. With my Marriott Gold status I was able to get all of us upgraded one level to give us a balcony and a garden view. The rooms were spacious, well appointed, very clean and very quiet. The pool areas, 3 as I remember, 1 main and 2 smaller, were all very clean and maintained with a nice swim up bar in the main area. There was a casino on site, but as none of us were gamblers, we only went in to get change one day. There are several restaurants within the hotel complex. We only ate breakfast at the Calypso, had sandwiches at the Lobby Bar and Pizzas at the poolside Pizza Shack, which were very good. The beach is on the Atlantic side of the island and was surprisingly clean(I say surprised only because reviews have stated that the seaweed was a problem). They cleaned the beach of seaweed at least 3 times the week we were there. The hotel grounds are spacious clean and well maintained. Overall, having stayed at many Marriott's in my travels, I would rate this as a 4 out of 5 stars and will stay there again if traveling to St Kitts.

Prior to coming here, we read the reviews of the property and had some concerns. They were quickly put to rest upon our arrival and throughout the trip, the staff continued to demonstrate that they were more than happy to serve. This has been a very good experience, unlike the experience I had at Frenchman's Reef in St. Thomas. I will return here as the locals at the restaurants and beaches have been warm and welcoming and also happy to serve.

The ONLY downside was the one cab driver (an older man with a dark blue van) who never told us his name but was waiting at the Marriott for his fare. He was a rip off. We asked him to take us to Shipwreck Beach. His reply was that the beach was closed but he would take us to another beach with even nicer sand. It was called Carambola. When we arrived we wre greeted with beach chairs $10 each for the day and $10 for the umbrella. They also did not have an area for snorkeling nor did they rent equipment. We walked for 10 minutes to Shipwreck Beach where they were wonderful. Chairs and umbrellas were complimentary with the equipment rental ($5 for fins) and the staff was helpful. This taxi driver was a bum and charged us $15 to go to Carambolla but the return trip (that was further) the taxi charge was $10.

I also learned later in the day that there is a rumor that Carambolla pays the taxi drivers $1.00 per person for everyone they bring. I cannot confirm this.

Hotel great, beach great, service great. Most cabs just fine. This one jerk taxi driver needs to be beaten.

We will come back next year.
