“Authentic Aquitaine Food”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

We had a quick lunch here on our way to Saint Emilion. The food was simple but well done. Our only complaint is not really serious at all but the portions were a bit large. Service was spot on and very friendly. They suffered through our poor French with a good attitude. The foie gras was absolutely delicious.

“Excellent lunch stop”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

We only decided to go into this lovely restaurant because of the large number of French people going in, and we were delighted. It was a chilly grey day but the welcome was warm, the atmosphere lively and the Menu de Jour at €14 was really good. We couldn't fault the food or the service, starters were wither endive salad with ham or chick pea salad, then pork roti and a choice of excellent desserts which were either creme brulee or a lovely prune tart. Strongly recommended.

“Excellent”

Of all the restaurants in penne this is the one to choose. Open all day so no need to eat at 1200. 1330 is ok. The menu du jour is always good value. The steak with onion rings is to die for. Staff friendly, excellent chef and Madame always welcomes you.

“Good food , helpful service”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Was in Penne d for a week in Sept 2013. Went to most restaurants, during the week and went back here twice.Food is strongly local, well cooked , tasty, interesting and the staff do their best to help , if like me you only have French from school ,which was a while ago! Plenty of poultry for which the region is (justly) famous, but also had some beef (onglet) which was delicious, as was gezier and foie gras ( duck not goose)
