Stayed here for two nights during a walking holiday. On arrival after a long very hot walk we were meet by Alex who quickly told us what we needed to know .He and his mother run this hotel and a grand job they do,Nothing was ever a problem they were friendly attentive and a good source of local knowledge.Nice terrace area both outside and inside.Very large fridge stocked with a good choice of wine ,beer, and soft drinks you just marked down what you had [prices reasonable ]or you could buy your own drinks and leave them in the fridge if you wanted.Rooms were of a good standard with all that you require.Breakfast was the usual buffet and was fine and picnic lunches were great.

A great hotel with a warm welcome at all times from Alex who goes out of his way to be helpful. Positioned high above the village with views across the sea to El Teide in clear weather. Plenty of space to sit outside on the patio and there is also a sun terrace and garden within the seclusion of the hotel. Excellent breakfast and picnic lunches.

Room Tip: We had a room at the side with its own balcony which gives added flexibility

We arrived about 6pm, hot and exhausted after a 10-mile trek down from the Garajonay National Park and Dora was waiting for us, looking a little concerned for our wellbeing -- and not without cause! Dora's English is very limited (like our Spanish) but Alex had left a welcome letter in English, giving us the essentials. A glass of chilled water later, Dora showed us to our room (Aeonium -- the rooms have names rather than numbers) where our bags were waiting for us. The views from our room over Hermigua, the coast and across to Tenerife were spectacular. The room itself was clean, comfortable and well furnished; the en-suite also clean and fully functional, with plenty of hot water on demand.

As part of our package with Inntravel, Ramon arrived with his taxi at 7.30 prompt and took us to El Faro restaurant in Hermigua, which we liked so much we asked him to take us there the next evening also. At breakfast, we met Alex, who is a very attentive host. The breakfasts were generous and tasty, but it would have been good to see fresh yoghurt rather than the tubs of Danone. We had a packed lunch on our second day which could have fed four people; on the other hand, we were walking a long way and we got through it all, including the 3 litres of water which Alex very sensibly insisted we add to our bulging backpacks.

The Hotel has free wireless, but it is available only in the immediate vicinity of the 'phone on the first floor. There is an honesty bar rather than a mini-bar in the room. The rooms don't have TV in them, which was not a problem for us.

The least satisfactory aspect of the Hotel -- and there's nothing they can do about it -- is that it's a hard uphill slog from the town. But that's how it has the spectacular views, so it's a trade-off we were happy to make.

Stayed two nights on a walking holiday. The hostess was waiting anxiously for our arrival as we staggered in after the descent. Alex clearly explained what was happening with regards to taxis for dinner etc. Local restaurants are a taxi ride away but this was organised although the El Faro was definately our preferred meal of the two. The other night was overlooking the beak-much nicer at lunchtime after a long walk down to the beach (we forgot the bit about climbing over the headland too!)
Breakfasts were great and varied. Great picnic required sliming down to fit in the bag!

My partner and I spent 6 nights at this beautiful, cosy and quiet hotel (summer 2012). Alex, our host, was very kind and helpful. Everyday during breakfast he suggested nice hiking routes and beaches that were most suitable considering the weather. He made our stay an unforgettable and relaxing experience. We had a very clean and beautiful room (wooden ceiling, comfy bed, private terrace with a fantastic view over the mountains and the sea). The hotel is located uphill, so it's quite a long walk to most restaurants in town, so we mostly went there by car. However, because of the location it's also extremely quiet in and around the hotel, perfect if you are looking for a relaxing (yet active) holiday rather than entertaining nightlife.
