Have eaten here last 2 weeks for Sunday lunch, both times food has been lovely. Staff are friendly and polite. Manager(I think) stopped to chat and ask how we were.
Child friendly were happy to give us a spare plate for our very picky 5 year old to save a full dinner going in bin.
Would reccomend to all.

We recently visited Rothbury and went to the hotel for lunch a couple of times. The fish and chips at lunch were excellent, the fish being cooked to perfection and large portions too. The chips are hand cut chunky ones which made a refreshing change. A bit on the steep side (nearly £20 for 2 portions) but we were on holiday after all.

Went back for the Sunday carvery which was indeed really good value for money. The meat was cooked well, as were the vegetables and the gravy was just the way I like it, quite thick and very tasty. The Yorkshire puddings were enormous but very well cooked - no doughy bits in the middle. We both had the beef which was served with mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, mashed swede and a stuffing ball which again, tasted lovely. The other vegetables were brought to the table in a bowl and we were full to bursting by the time we had finished.

All in all a good place to eat, but the bar and lounge areas could do with redecorating and the cobwebs taking out of the ladies loo!
