“Super friendly traditional tea room.”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

A great place to meet friends or take the family for lunch. This is a family rum business and you can be sure you'll get top rate service. A very tempting range of cakes, coffees and teas will make you want to come back for more.

“Tea Stop in Beautiful Rothbury”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

After a stunning hike over the Simonside hills, Harley's Tea Rooms was an obvious choice to reenergise and reflect on a lovely Northumbrian walk. I visited here last year with friends and my return visit today was just as lovely. Don't visit if you're on a diet. You will not be able to resist the cakes and pasties on offer, all home made and very lovely. I had the white chocolate cheese cake with pouring cream and undid probably half the good my ascent of Simonside did. I chose the home made quiche for lunch, which was leek and mushroom, though I understand this varies throughout the week. There are an assortment of trinkets inside and the tea room itself is exceptionally cosy. Last year, we enjoyed our lunch on the small garden area outside which was equally lovely. Worth a visit and an additional calorie intake or two hundred.

“EXCUISITE”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

What a shame we did not find this little gem until the last day of our holiday, the best Tea Room I have ever visited. Staff very welcoming and friendly (Vicky) service was first class and a collection of tea, coffee and cakes to keep you wanting more. As an extra bonus there is also a divine little gift shop collection with trinkets and goodies to satisfy the most discerning shopper. Harley's will be a must for my next visit.

“Homely welcome”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

Four of us called here late one afternoon after visiting Cragside. Have eaten here several times and are always made welcome. Food is fresh and made to order. Staff and owner look after everyone as if their family. Spotless decor, toilets and the owner frequently checks to make sure everything was in order. We shared a couple of things aw we were eating out later in the evening and this presented no problems as the owner said £20 in his pocket and a promise of a further visit was well worth him looking after us. The 50/60's music in the background was warmly appreciated by us pensioners. More power to your elbow.
