Hello,
Thanks ever so much for this - we also felt we knew you well, before your arrival, having acted as your "Sat-Nav" from Haltwhistle!
Our meeting was brief but enjoyable and with luck we can repeat it - maybe next year! That would be nice, wouldn't it? We'd look forward to it.
A warm and friendly cheerio, Cath and Ian

We stayed here for one week in September. Lovery B & B, wonderful breakfasts with home made bread still warm, plus Ian morning banter made breakfast ideal. The bedroom was a great with a 4 Poster bed and everything you need including tea making and a tray of 'treats' and clean towels every day. The evening meal was cooked to perfection and a joy to be served by Cath & Ian. If you eat out in Rothbury the Newcastle Hotel is the best in the village and the Three Wheats Head in the next village 2 miles away in Thropton. If you are north of the Tyne this is THE place to stay.

My wife and I stayed for one week from the 3rd of August. Its a quaint little b&b in a very nice town, Ian and Cath are a charming couple and make you feel very welcome, the breakfasts are lovely with fresh home made bread made every morning. The room was full of character with a stone fireplace, window seat and four poster bed. We had clean towels every day and a change of linen in the week. On our first night we pre ordered a meal from Cath and it was delicious. The rest of the week we ate out in different places depending on where we were at the time but we can recommend the Queens Head in Rothbury, the fish and chip shop up the road from Katerina's and the Three Wheats Head in the next village 2mls away in Thropton. We had a lovely stay with Cath and Ian and can fully recommend it.

This was our third visit to Katerinas' Guest House in Rothbury and it did not disappoint. The breakfast fills you up for day and is just what you want when out walking or visiting the attractions in the area. The rooms are immaculate and everything is always exceptionally clean and tidy. It is a great base for visiting the north east. We went to Durham for the day which was only a little over an hours drive away; delightful. Cath & Ian make everyone extremely welcome. Thanks Cath & Ian for making our stay a great one. We will return to this excellent B &B again.

Hello there you two,
Thanks for this lovely review. It's really a shame that there is no forum where we can review our guests ....
.....about you two I'd have to say that you're pretty special people ....... you always bring such a lot of fun to breakfast .... that's what sets US up for the day!
Your visits are so enjoyable for us too that I'd have to say ...... "Hurry back for more as soon as possible!"

Take care both, you are precious, love Cath and Ian

We've stayed in B&Bs for over 10 years, and this has to rate amongst the best we've stayed at. It is comfortable, quiet and clean, with superb breakfasts (fresh hot bread in the morning is worth the money alone) and scrummy the tea-time treats. The delightful wit and charm of Cath and Ian make it all that more special. Thanks for making our 5 night stay so warm and wonderful.

Hi there,
You know, people like yourselves make it easy to converse and banter .... you were also very interesting and amusing and we all had some good conversations. In short we probably enjoyed you as much as you enjoyed us!
Thanks very much of course for telling TripAdvisor about it - this was a really good review and summed us up in a very neat nutshell.
You came a long way to stay with us and we're glad it was all worth while. Hopefully, you'll get a chance to visit again some day - we'd look forward to that.
Glad you liked my bread too - I thought I had noticed a certain partiality to it at breakfast times!
Cheerio, Cath. ( and Ian of course).

Just got home from a 2 night stay at Katerina's. The room was clean & comfy, and the t time treats were well received with our brews. Both Cath & Ian were great hosts, and we had some great chats about various topics over our evening meal, which was delicious.Breakfast was also spot on, just what we needed to get up the nearby hills for a day of walking. All in this was a great mini break which we would recommend to anyone.
