Sant Joan De Binissaida
Ranked #5 of 6 Hotels in Es Castell

We had a very special stay at this lovely small hotel. The setting and the house are beautiful. Our suite (Wagner) was tastefully furnished and a comfortable size and layout for the family. The pool area is large and inviting. The hotel has a very private feeling since there are not many rooms. The hotel is well located for exploring the island and its beaches and for going out to dinner in Mahon or the neighboring towns. We have 2 children, ages 11 and 10, and they loved the animals and the pool area. The food is also very good, especially the breakfast which is served on a charming terrace accented by a flower archway. Aside from the beauty of this place what stands out is the very friendly staff. Harry the manager gave us wonderful tips for wine and nearby restaurants and arranged a pony ride for our daughters. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Menorca, especially those looking for something more unique and personal. It may not be 5-6 star luxury but this little hotel is perfect in its own way.

Went to this hotel for my sons wedding. Stayed 8 days. Was the perfect venue and setting for a great wedding. The staff could not have done more. In a quite tranquil location and setting. Would be a perfect location if you wanted to have a relaxing holiday. Would definately recommend this. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on our first visit to Menorca last week (May 17-18). The property exceeded our expectations and we were well taken care of by the attentive staff and manager, Harry. Our room (Puccini) had a nice view of the sea. We loved the pool area and took advantage of the great access to the Cami Cavalles to run in the mornings. We also found the location a good staging point to take day trips to the coast, and into Mahon in the evening. We dined at the hotel restaurant on one evening and had a lovely meal. I'd recommend the lamb - raised on the hotel's land! All in all, a great experience and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Having stayed in this quiet rural hotel for many years, new management have brought this experience to perfection. Wonderful grounds and pool, restaurant and rooms. So relaxed.

Room Tip: Rooms inside the main building are more traditional; those outside are modern - our preference

Sant Joan is a very nice place close to Es Castell, hided in the country side, quiet, in a beautiful landscape. I like it very much because it's a confidential place, not much rooms, rather a place which makes you feel you're visiting friends living in a big house. The swimming pool is big and nice, probably the biggest I saw in this kind of hotel on this side of Menorca, really secure for kids thanks to ong stairs in the water, and at the same time definitely big enough to allow you to exercice swimming. While arriving there, you really have the feeling to be in someone's house as the lobby looks like a personal office, and as you drive accross fields with horses, sheeps, this gives you immediately the feeling you've reached your vacation destination ! The team is really kind and always ready to answer your request, but not in the way you'll get it in a big hotel chain, they are relax and efficient at the same time, even if you sometimes have to ask twice for a service (let's be honest), but you'll get it for sure.
I particularly appreciate the quality of the breakfast as you can have so many different things, so good and well prepared. The basics are available from the buffet plus a quite large choice of croissants, local pastries, and then you can make a choice between a large set of local specialities and enjoy a really great breakfast, definitely a moment to appreciate. Of course, you have to wait a bit to have your meal getting cooked, but it's done for you, specially as you've ordered it. And that's great ! Ok, if you juste arrive after a family of 6 spanish people who are used to order tons of things and to have big breakfast, you may have to wait a bit, but the buffet is there to help you wait...

The experience you will live in this hotel will depend if you are staying at the same time as a majority of frenchies, brits, spanish or german people, as it's size of big house makes you feel the rythm and the atmosphere brought by the other guests. And that's why it's so charming and special. It's everything but a "neutral" place.

I do not have any opinion on the restaurant in the evening as we were used to go outside in the harbour to test different kind of restaurants, so nothing to say on this point from my side. Lunch time has been always fine for the kids, it's flexible and smart enought to ensure you'll get what you need and for us it was always fine.

This sumer is going to be our 4th stay there and each time we leave, each time we make the decision to stay longer the following year. The service is good, the team is there to make you enjoy your stay, there is a real personality in this place and in each member of staff, the location is absolutely lovely. And they are really smart with our kids which is a good point for families, knowing that some other places around don't welcome kids...! For our familiy, without any hesitation, it's our place to enjoy the most important holidays of the year.
