We stayed here for 1 week in May 2012. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only complaint I had was when a waiter broke my sunglasses however the Deputy Manager very quickly replaced these for me.

The children's pool was excellent and very clean. The food was vast and very good. The private beach was perfect.

I would happily return here again.

It's good to stay with small children - childrens club, animation, pool, own beach, but the food for them rather poor (no cereal for example). Anyway it also good to stay here if you like to be in a center of entertainment (Megalluf is 2 km near, 20 min by foot), but prefer to stay in a quiet place. Also in Megalluf you'll find shops, souvenirs, rent a car/stroller, water-entertainmant, attractions for all ages. Rooms are nice, plumbing in good condition.

I would not return to this hotel. Stayed for 1 week fron 22nd Sept. Could not get home quick enough. My husband and I have been to other Barcelos, including this year to Barcelo Furterventura. This hotel was A1.
Cala Vinas is a small resort, only a few supermarkets and bars.
The hotel food was awful as was the entertainment. The venue it was in was also terrible. No comfortable chairs to sit in. It was like being in a dungeon. The stage seemed to be a do it yourself job. Not what we were used too. No waiter service in the bar area. How one person who wrote a review could say it was good, I do not know.
The only good part was the snack bar which you could get food from 12-7pm. We ate there when we were OK. as during the week we had to have a doctor as we both had diaoreahea and sickness. You got pizza and pasta at every evening meal, there was no carvery and the food was very bland, no taste. Our room was fine, about the best thing combined with the beach. This hotel has no character or charm.

Room Tip: Just dont choose this hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for one week, all inclusive in August and really can't fault the hotel. The buildings themselves are split into 3 blocks. One is joined onto the modern reception, close to the kids' club and play area. The second is accessed by a bridge and over looks the small beach. The third is over the gym, spa and bar, and overlooks the main pool. I quite like the fact it was spread out. Although the pool could get a bit lively when full of kids, the smaller one's were mostly out of harm's way in the top pool.
There is a supermarket next to the hotel, and a few local shops are about a 10 minutes walk across the adjacent beach and up some steps. There are a couple of bars too, but as we were all inclusive, we didn't eat out.
The food in the hotel was good. Lots of variety, constantly being topped up by the staff. The waiting staff were really pleasant. For some reason we seemed to sit in the same area and seemed to be waited on by the same staff. They were really nice and made a fuss over our 5 year old daughter who loved the attention. On one day, a Sunday I think, it was local food day. Not being massive fans of seafood or rabbit we struggled a bit, but there was an area serving pasta and pizza, so we never went hungry. Strangely enough, one thing that blew me away was the fresh bread. It was awesome! There was also a beach bar on the side of the hotel, which served food outside the usual meal times as part of the all-inclusive package.
There is a shaded main bar area next to the main pool. At first I found one barman a bit grumpy, but it soon became clear that some of the customers were really rude and I could sympathise with him. I'm a polite person who smiles a lot and the barman responded well to this and by our 5th day I was 'amigo', which I considered a result ;) I have so much respect for people who work in the service industries!
Our room was simple, spacious and very clean. Good air conditioning and a fridge. Cleaning lady was really chirpy and did a great job.
I could go an about sun beds being 'reserved' or the greed you get with all inclusive places, but they aren't really faults of the hotel, so I won't. I'm a keen runner and set alarms for 6am to go out before it got too hot. By this time, most of the prime spots by the pool had towels on the loungers.
The running is pretty uninspiring. Dusty roads with the odd development of apartments. Magaluf is really close so I used to head there. Looks like a lively place. Always odd running and seeing people on their way home from what looks like a brilliant night ;)
The entertainment at the hotel was great. I didn't really get involved, but it was fun to watch. The staff worked so hard and were really friendly, trying to get people involved without being too pushy. We did go to the mini-disco most nights, which our daughter loved. The hotel had a mix of Spanish, Russian and Italian guests, with a smaller number of English, and the music reflected this. The staff were multi lingual and really helped the children to get involved whilst the parents watched and occasionally joined in with some of the songs.
There was good wifi access in the beautiful main reception, with plenty of seating.
Got a bus to Palma from outside the hotel. Beautiful city, but the bus stopped at most of the resorts along the coast and took a while. With hindsight I wish we'd taken a taxi.
All in all, a great hotel, with brilliant staff.

Room Tip: Block 2 is far from the bar and we didn't experience any noise on a night.

Stayed for a week all-inclusive. Majority of people that stayed were non British. Thought the room was very nice and cleaned well every day. We good just see the beach through the trees

Staff were very friendly and the entertainment team worked hard. Usual choice of food with a bottle of wine offered in the all inclusive deal at lunch and evening meal. Brut Cava also available for champagne breakfast

Lovely quieter bar away from the pool that also offered snacks

Lovely beach on your door stop but if you are bored with the area then you can walk to Magalluf

All in all relaxing holiday was had

Booked this holday with Thomas Cook, never again. Nobody from this company at the airport to meet us to show us where to go for our transfer bus , went to information desk they sent us to far end of airport to someone called Jumbo office, they then sent us to the to the other end of airport about 800yards to shuttle bus ,about 30minutes later a lady shouted our bus had arrived while the airport P.A system was operating so we nearly missed the bus.Arrived at hotel, looked quite nice first impression ,the they gave us our room,we open our room curtains and to our dismay our room led directly on to childrens pall area and pool and our room was next to kids club,so in between meal times if you were in your room you got screaming kids, you would have thought giving a room like this to in there 70s and 80s was not the ideal thing to do. Down to evening meal, restaurant was full of 75 per cent of rude Rusians who ate like there was no tomorrow ,food was definitely 4 star plus more like three star and was not always hot .Entertainment none plus. One highlight was we met some lovely English people and also the assitant manager James was very helpful and had a great personality .On our return date home we were due to fly home at 11 35 am, we got quite a shock because Thomas Cook agents wanted us to be picked up at the hotel at5 -40 am,no way ,so we booked a taxi cost o 40 euros to airport, glad to be back after our worst holiday putting up with noise in the restaurant next to kids club and pool and no smiling due Russians, never go back.
