I would never ever go here again..even if I was paid!!I feel gutted at losing a week of my annual leave to this place...
On arrival we had to pay 120euro.....this was something to do with not having a visa card or owning a home...then we had to endure 3 hours of complete boredom as they tried to sell us basically a timeshare!!!
We had 3 apartments between a group of friends, the air con was broken in two, toilet was broken for 4 days in one, another stank of sewage the whole time, the doors didn't lock, the linen was never changed. The thing is you can expect minor things happen on holiday but the real problem was the attitude of the dutch guy Roy would was running the whole show. The most arrogant man I have ever met. He actually said " well what do you expect from a cheap holiday"...well a flushing toilet would be a start. He is just vile!!!There was no communication from him and he just didn't give a damn, the air con was fixed twice and he so acted like he was doing us a huge favour!!!!The toilet was never fixed!!!If they got rid of him the plave would be a whole lot better!

Its in the middle of nowhere and its 8euro to get down the huge hill in a taxi, i like to walk but you'd actually need a rope to pull yourself back up its so steep.

Every minute of the day they try to get more money out of you...i.e 2euro for a foam overlay for the sunbeds...you can buy water from their own supermarket but you can't take it down to the pool...you have to buy it from the pool bar!!!

Anyhow I could go on forever but if after reading this review you still go then best of luck!!!!

We arrived by car which we had hired at midnight and when greeted were able to pay the 100 euro deposit on a credit card, we were given a pile of our towels for the week, but were asked to pay 30 euro for the electricity for a week!!! That is the first time I have ever paid for electricity extra. The apartment was clean but very hot inside and luckily there was airconditioning which eventually cooled it down. Shock no 2 was when we finally got to bed, 2am we discovered that there was no linen on the beds, just covers. So I had to get dressed again, go to the reception at 2.15am and try to explain to the receptionist, who did not speak English, that we had no bed linen. Finally he understood and I went back to the room to make our beds by ourselves. Not the nicest thing to do at 2.30am.
Disaster no 3 was that the apartment did not lock, we had the plastic card key reset 3 times but it only worked once. We told the manager and he said he would do something about it, but he did nothing, so all week our apartment was left unlocked....
We decided to have a swim in the pool, but there was no peace there as children were running and shouting around it, parents nowhere to be seen and they made the event very unrelaxing and annoying. This happened another time there so we ended up going to another hotel most days just get some peace. The area around the pool is cramped and the other clients are most inconsiderate.
On the whole the apartments were like a cemetery, no one around, no life, no atmoshpere. It was much further to the beach than they said and it was up hill in the middle of nowhere.

I went to Manilva Green with a friend for a week in September 2007. The hotel was about 40 minute drive from Malaga Airport. As we didn't hire a car, we were going to attempt to get a bus, but with neither of us speaking spanish, we ended up jumping in a taxi. It cost around 70 euros if I remember correctly. If you hire a car, be aware there are a few toll roads en-route to this hotel.

As others have reported, we did have to pay a 100 euro deposit when we arrived at the hotel, which we were not warned about, however this was returned to us when we checked out a week later.

The hotel had only just opened within a few weeks of us arriving, so we were over-joyed to find we were the first ones to stay in our apartment (there was still plastic wrapping over the toilet from when it was fitted!) The apartment was quite spacious, had a small kitchen area with applicances, a tv, large bedroom and a decent sized bathroom. There was a very good air con system in the bedroom and the main living area. We had a spacious balcony area with views over the hillside. The pool area was very clean. As the hotel had only opened, there was only about 3 other couples there the entire time we were there, so most days we had the pool to ourselves!! There was a childrens shallow pool at a lower level, however no children were about when I stayed there. There were plenty of sun loungers and staff left the radio on during the day, not loud, just at a peaceful level.

There was a small shop at the hotel, which was slightly overpriced. It was fine for small essentials, but for most food, we went down the hill to the local supermarket. One day we walked down the hill. It is fair to say hillside as you go down the slope, is very much undergoing construction. The roads aren't quite roads! It was quite dusty and dirty walking down the hill, which took 30 minutes and in the heat did not go down well. The way we walked, took us to a massive road, which we had to walk along until we found a path. It didn't help that the spanish men (outside of the hotel) were quite sleezy and kept whistling and shouting words to us, which we couldn't translate! Once we got to the supermarket, we ended up getting a taxi back to the Hotel as it was such a drama getting there!

We occasionally bought food at the Hotel that was cooked by staff, but we didn't often exceed portions of chips, at 3 euros each, as we spent most of our money on taxis to Marbella day trips etc. One night we went to the port at Manilva (situated at the bottom of the hill) and it was beautiful. We ate and drank there till quite late. I would definately recommend a visit.

To sum up, I would definately go back. It is very clean, the staff are friendly, and the new apartments are spacious. The rows of apartments are set on different levels, so nobody overlooks eachother. Look at the pictures to see for yourself.
