We (2 adults and 3 kids) have stayed at this resort 3 times and find it perfect for our needs. We always go off season and get great value for money on a self-catering basis. The pool is lovely and has breathtaking views of the Bay of Gibraltar. The entertainment is OK, not in-your-face like some of the resorts, but nice for the kids especially. You do need a car and I wouldn't recommend eating on site or buying from the overpriced on-site supermarket. There are plenty of supermarkets within a 5-10 minute drive. It is definitely not the place to go to if you are looking for nightlife - I wouldn't recommend it for singles or young couples. My only complaint is that it is difficult to get around the resort with a buggy as there are steps everywhere and the only lifts are in the main building, where the reception desk is. It is like a little village with different accommodation blocks scattered around and none of them have lifts. We love it though - peaceful, relaxing and the kids are entertained.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the main pool and on a low floor if you have young children as there are no lift...

Just returned from this resort and have to say that we had a very good holiday because of the region. We travelled the coast, went to Morocco and Gibraltar and did a city break in Granada at the end of our stay. Terrazas Costa del Sol is a resort with fantastic views of the Mediterranean and The Rock of Gibraltar. The apartments are very nice and spacious and The air conditioning is a blessing! However, the staff were not at all welcoming and seemed completely disinterested. When you check in, nobody welcomes you to the resort, nobody asks you if you had a nice flight, nobody wishes you a pleasant stay and nobody reminds you of the protocol if you should have a question or query about your stay. This is the minimum I would expect at a holiday resort. Upon leaving, nobody will ask if you had a nice holiday... All we got after handing in the keys was... That's all! When I said to her... That's all?... She replied Yes, that's all.
The activities for the kids were very poor and this was high season!
The football pitch, which is artificial grass, is no bigger than my living room...totally inadequate and not flood-lit at night. There are no tennis courts, despite some online pictures. Entertainment staff come to the pool each day for about 15 minutes and do some kind of inane dance and that's pretty much it at high season. The same dance is repeated on several occasions from the stage at night. The talent night lasted about 15 minutes and ended abruptly after 3 kids did their piece. Very badly organised. Kids were not amused and had been expecting a bit more. Other resorts that cater for kids put on better shows. No effort was made here!

Been here for the 4th year in a row. Love it here. Don't eat in the restaurant but the rooms are all self-catering. We have 3 kids who are 3, 6 and 9. A few hopefully helpful points:

1 - You need a car
2 - 30 minutes from gibralta and marbella
3 - Lovely pool
4 - best to go out of season when it it quiet
5 - good kids club with lovely staff for kids
6 - rooms are fantastic

if you book your flights through Easyjet then before checkout you can buy the room through easyjet with £200 off. Can arrive and leave on any day of the week when you do it this way

Hope it helps someone

Room Tip: Ask for a garden or a balcony. garden is with sun lounger and garden spot. balcony is gibralta view

This place dies nit exist on the GPS and not even on the iPhone map. As this is NOT in Minerva, its very difficult to find. We needed to stay on the phone line fir 20 min with the receptionist that was impatient.
The veiw to the rock is spactacilar.
They take money for an hour of internet, lobby only.

We had a two bedroomed apartment on the first floor overlooking the main pool. The apartment is tastefully furnished with a double bedroom with large walk-in bathroom and twin room with small shower room. There is a small kitchen with full size fridge/freezer, microwave and hob but no oven. There is a kettle but no toaster. There is a dishwasher but there are no facilities on the complex for washing clothes other than sending them to the main laundry. The main problem with this apartment was the horrendous smell of drains like rotten eggs. A member of staff sent a man to put something down the drains who said the smell was due to a number of reasons, the northerly wind blowing at the time (?), the empty apartment above us and whenever someone somewhere else flushed the toilets. Whenever you returned to the apartment the smell hit you straight away. They are opening another small pool in July which is already full of water and ready to go, which is a good thing as I can't imagine how the complex would cope when it's full with only the main pool (which is in a beautiful setting with incredible views of the surrounding bay of Torreguadiaro and Sotogrande with Gibraltar in the distance). Don't bother with the restaurant, it's overpriced (with a set menu costing €28 pp without drinks) and even the take away (which we tried one evening) is on average €12 and was dreadful. You would be better to drive down to Torreguadiaro and experience the fabulous fresh fish and tapas on offer at half the price. Another important issue is the reception staff while taking all the details of our rental car failed to inform us that the gates to the complex are closed more often than not and a code is required to enter and exit the complex, which two calls later from us at the gate clarified as we queued to leave behind two very irate taxi drivers. I'm not too sure how thorough the cleaning staff are as on arrival we found a tea cup on the balcony full to the brim with soggy cigarette butts and also left-behind children's toys. There is a mini market on the complex which is primarily open between 8 and 12 am but is closed on Wednesdays.

Good things:
amazing views and good location although not by the beach. Excellent kids club with very good staff. Apartments are fully equipped for those wanting self catering. The pool is vigilantly cleaned every day. Right in the middle of everything as could go to Marbella, Girbraltar, or even day trip to Morrocco (30 minutes by boat from Algaceras).

Points for improvement:
Address given does not come up on any GPS and not even correct on google maps. You will find it difficult to find as it is not actually in Manilva and is almost 10 miles away. Internet is not free as advertised on some sites and costs £2 per hour or £8 per day. Open buffet is not opened till end of June but instead you ( for those on half board or fully inclusive) will be offered a 3 course menu dinner and full English breakfast which is quite good. The dinner is particularly excellent and quite healthy and we personally prefer this to the open buffet option. I think staff will struggle when it gets really busy. Drinks are not free..surprise, surprise!!!
The size of the pool can be a bit small when there are too many guests.
The resort mainly gets German and French guests, therefore, English is not always spoken and can be a bit challenging when you are trying to communicate with staff.
There is no Gym although it is advertised as it has one.

Overall this is not a 5 star and may just about make it as 4 star holiday apartments. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for good value for money providing your stay is not in the high season; however, if you are staying in Jul or Aug, then you can get better value somewhere else as prices rocket up disproportionally.

Room Tip: You will need to go for sea view (best is to choose Malaga complex just above reception). However th...

We were given an apartment with a fantastic view of The Rock of Gibraltar so we were extremely happy. There was no oven, grill or toaster as previously stated so you could really only fry or microwave. We did eat in the restaurant a couple of times and it was OK nothing special but you got some variety in choice. The beds are quite firm and the pillows werent good at all. No hairdryer but you could rent with 20 euro deposit.
We visited Sotogrande (big beach, chic and quiet little harbour) and Puerto del Delquesa which was lively in the evening we found some really nice restaurants ( 10 minutes by car ). Tarifa was worth a visit as well as Vejer if you are travelling towards Cadiz.
