Just returned from this hotel, very pleasant stay. We had a room over looking the sea,we did email the hotel the week before asking for a sea view and to be on the floor 3 or above. (We got the fourth) food was good, no upset tummies. The rooms could do with a make over but did have what u needed. Hair dryer was a bonus and not the sort already attached to the wall. Soaps, shower gel, and shampoo were provided and re-stocked every day. You can hire beach/pool towels for the week, just pay a deposit and this is refunded when you give them back at the end of your holiday. We did watch a couple of shows at the hotel, but mostly enjoyed going cross the road to Route 66 (bar) which had live bands on every night. Service was very good, our only moan is the sun beds !!!!! People staying there got up before 7am to reserve them, by 8.30am most of them had gone. It appears that people would put towels on the beds, go for breakfast, then go shopping and be back to the beds after lunch. It's not a fair system, although the hotel did put notes through rooms asking you not to reserve beds, but who's going to take any notice. It needs somebody to be there to stop people doing this and follow through actions as said in the note - towels will be taken off beds if empty for more than 30mins. We did manage to get beds most days, the days we didn't we went to the beach.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view, anything 3rd floor or above. We did email the hotel the week before and they did reply saying they would do there best. You can ask for an upgrade at a cost.

We had a great weeks holiday just got back. The food, location and hygiene were excellent very friendly relaxed staff. Our room overlooked the sea the porter who showed us to our room said it had best views. he wasn't wrong. It was quiet at night with sun all day. The balcony was a good size with a drying area.We were all inclusive and it's the best holiday we've experienced in long time. Definitely going back and will recommend to family and friends.
We enjoyed the sporting events and the entertainment team were great fun and talented good dancers and singers. We didn't go on a trip as we were only there for a week. However we went down to the rock pools swam in the sea went to the harbour and enjoyed the banter of the locals competing with sea trips. We fell lucky as it is a Spanish tradition on the 22nd June to go to the beach and light a fire then dip in the sea after midnight. A bit like our summer solstice The entertainment team arranged it good fun not too busy and free if I was really picky you have to be early to get a good sun lounger however the pool guy is very helpful and will get you want you want.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the sea have fantastic views however would imagine all of them do. our room was on the second floor.

Myself and my other half have just got back from a weeks All Inclusive stay at Barcelo Santiago. I have absolutely no niggles about this hotel or the staff. The hotel is immaculate, our room was cleaned and beds made/changed everyday. The food was great, I loved how much choice there were every day, and how the food choice changed everyday. Also how if food is not available in the restaurant it's available at the pool bar. The drinks went down very nicely! All the staff and the entertainment team we brilliant! They put on great shows every night, and on two occasions had outside entertainment come in. The staff work very hard and are very helpful and friendly, they will bend over backwards to help you and cater to your needs. The nice thing about the entertainment team is when they come round during the day to involve you in activities, they are not at all pushy. This was our first All Inclusive holiday and first holiday to Tenerife together. I will 100% book there again. I will be honest we were miserable on the last day due to having to leave, we could have easily stayed another few weeks. This is my only regret that we didn't book more time there. The views from the hotel room and pool area were stunning! You also get 30mins a day free wifi in the Reception area, and if you want to save a little space in your suitcase, you don't need to take a towel. You can rent one for round the pool each day I think for 8€ but you get this back at the end of the day, and towels are provided clean everyday in the room.

One thing I would say and this is not against the hotel, if you've booked a holiday through First Choice on your first day you will have an introduction and will be handed a welcome pack. In there you get a brochure with lots of different excursions on. Do NOT book any excursions through First Choice unless you want to spend more than you have to. We had a walk into Los Gigantes (it's about 10mins walk) there was an excursions place on the stretch down to the harbour. Really easy to find. We went in out of interest to find out how much it would cost to book and excursion to Loro Parque through them. We saved 20€ each! We paid 45€ for the park entry which included transfers via the Express bus. This only does 3-4 stops on the way, whereas the standard bus can do upto 10, and it does take around 1 1/2 -2hrs to get there so express is definitely recommended!

On the last note, make sure you do the Macarena with Sebastian from the entertainment team! He loves it! :) he really made the last of our holiday ultra enjoyable! He's great fun!

Room Tip: Would definitely recommend booking a room with a sea view, beautiful views!

Just back from a 14 night AI stay at the Barcelo. It's hard to find anything to be critical about but I think I've found something: the lifts - they're small and claustrophobic. Er, that's about it I think. Oh sure, you could nitpick all day long. Those rooms that haven't been updated for 10 years are looking a bit tired, the food is hardly what you'd call gourmet and the sunbed melee begins well ahead of 7:30 in the morning. There's barely any British TV but JR & Judge Judy as we prepared to get ready for the evening meal slightly compensated. But this is counter balanced by saying the place is spotlessly clean, the food is plentiful and reasonably varied and you ALWAYS get a bed. The main pool was lovely and warm and a nice refreshing way to cool off from constant 30 degree heat - you can sunbathe until 8pm I kid you not. The staff are polite and helpful and work ever so hard as do the animations team. They might not be everyone's cup of tea but this is a holiday resort not the X Factor Finals so try and take it in the right spirit. The singular biggest plus point for this hotel though, as has been alluded to several times already, is the 'to die for' views. OMG. I last visited this area as a 14 year old boy just after the world's worst air crash on the island in 1977 (with apologies if you're about to fly out - don't Google it if you don't remember it), and the imposing 2,000 feet cliffs of Los Gigantes left their mark then.I couldn't wait to visit again - they are simply stunning and worth going just to see them. We did a power boat trip along their length and delved into one or two caves along the way which gave you a different perspective to their beauty. The weather was immaculate and we will no doubt be booking the Barcelo again next year after this holiday ticked every single box. Highly recommended and to finish off in teenage speak - if you're going any time soon, we're well jel! Enjoy!

Room Tip: all rooms are sea view but try and get one that face the cliffs

I have recently visited this hotel with my fiancé and had a good time but it could of been great if a few things were to change.
Now the location is amazing and the views are really fantastic they really make this hotel stand out.
The rooms are a good size clean and views are great there is a fridge (its not that cold) the air con is adequate, the bed was not that comfy two beds pushed together.
We were on the all inclusive option the service in the bar was good all the staff were good and very friendly.
The poolside area is good with great views but is smaller than it looks and this causes a problem with the sun beds there are not enough to go round as lots of people get up a half six in the morning to put towels down then disappear for the day this needs policed better to free up beds for everyone.
Day time entertainment is hit and miss not as good as we are used too and not that interactive night time entertainment is very cheesy but enjoyable but it only lasts an hour and is on late ten till eleven some nights finishing early it really needs to be on longer and more interactive.
Now the really disappointing with the hotel that stops me giving this place 4 stars is the food it's awful the only way to describe its is bad tasteless school dinners, we were on the all inclusive option but still only eat here 3 times as it was so bad. Food is bad quality and the fish was really really bad we were hoping for some good Spanish food but there was cold chips and pizza and there attempt at paella was really bad all food was not hot.
There are some excellent places to eat near by I can recommend EL Pasador 2 and Nimos across the road food and atmosphere are great also it's worth taking a walk to Los gigiantos to a place called Tamaras its food is out of this world.
Also a tip if you want free wi fi go to the British bar beaches brook it's very friendly the breakfast is excellent too for2.50 euros
If this place didn't have the views and good location I would struggle it I would only give this place 3 stars mainly because of the bad food as it does not compare to other 4 star all inclusive I've stayed at we holidays every year to all inclusive so know what to expect this didn't meet our expectations with regards to food and entertainment. Overall we had a good time this was due to the great views weather drinks and the local places to eat would I go back probably not unless they improved the food the entertainment.

Room Tip: Have a high sea view room and eat out
