Globales Tamaimo Tropical

Don't believe some of the bad reports written about this place. It's absolutely fine.
Don't forget a large proportion of people only write reports when they have got a gripe. Most satisfied customers don't bother. Anyway .... enough said.
We booked through a cheap and cheerful website as a cheapo holiday. However this hotel is used by some very reputable agents.
Our room was just as I requested. A studio on the top floor. Very pleased. Very helpful, friendly, English speaking reception desk.
Even though we went while the kids were still off at the back end of easter, there were still a pile of sunbeds available at both pools.
Entertainment was above average. 5 out of 7 nights were out side proffessionals and during the the daytime the 3 animation girls worked tirelessly to keep you amused.
Food I thought was very nice and an excellent variety.
The whole place was kept very clean and appeared to be well run. We went all inc and the bar queues were short when there was one.
Set in a nice area with good walks both ways. It took me and the wife 15 mins to walk to Los Gigantes. Well worth it as well.
Would reccomend this hotel to anyone - as long as they are reasonably mobile. Plenty of steps scattered about and the resort is quite hilly.

We had lovely weather and a lovely break from work. Food was good. Furniture in the room could have been a little more comfortable. Did many trips, Mount Teide by night, Sub Marine and on the boat looking for dolphins and whales. We did see some dolphins. Drink was good in the hotel. There were many people bad in the hotel but we did hear a rumour that it was all over the island. Went down to the two bars down the road in the evening for some good entertainment. We will go back to Tenenrife but think we will try further down next time and hope the weather is as good. Rumour has it that the weather is better on this side.

We have just enjoyed two weeks in the Tamaimo Tropical, all the staff are really hard working friendly and helpful.
The food was lovely except for some reason both Tuesdays lunch and dinner was below their usual standard. It seems the restaurant runs on a two week menu as the meals weren't the same while we were there. The Morocollo restaurant, which has to be booked, but is included in All Inclusive is well worth a visit if you like Italian style food, it is a more relaxed restaurant than the main one. The hotel will provide a picnic and early breakfast for trips out.
The rooms were clean and I think I had the better of the two beds, my husbands was less comfortable, something they forget to tell you is to put the towels in the bath if you want them changed and there is no maid service on Sundays.
There is free Wifi in the reception area, the login we found out from the rep.
The pools were clean and not overly busy as they were not acclimatized. The first two days we were there the sunbeds were locked up until 9 o'clock in the morning, this I imagine annoyed the guests who were stood there waiting to reserve their beds at 7 o'clock. After the Easter weekend and the hotel was quieter there were enough sunbeds to go around and they were no longer locked up .
The pool bar serves chips hot dogs and burgers from 10am till 6pm. There are bars at both pools that serve drinks.
Tea and cake between 4pm and 6pm took us a week to find and had to be asked for from the bar beside the restaurant.
The walk to Los Gigantes is about 10-15 mins and we booked a tour to Mount Tiede from one of the shops there. The trip was a bit rushed, we didn't get much time up the volcano on the cable car,( This cost £25.00 Euros for Adults and 12.50 for children on top of cost for trip.) and the guide was doing her best speaking in three languages but we did find it difficult to follow her story in the end.
The is an outdoor sea pool on the way to Los Gigantes which, is only unlocked when the sea conditions are good and it is safe to use it.
To catch a local bus from the hotel you have to walk up a major set of steps or a steep hill, The 473 and 477 are the best buses to catch to go to the next resorts.
There is a selection of shops that can be got to on the flat from the hotel, but it is a very hilly area.
There is an interesting coast walk towards the Blue Flag beach at Puerto Santiago, there is another beach on the way.
There are lots of small shops and restaurants every where you walk.
The only thing missing we felt was a quiet bar inside , the only inside place to sit and have a drink was the entertainment bar, which was noisy, most of the entertainment was good and there was a good variety, naturally there was a kids disco and bingo every night. The animation team were very friendly and had activities for adults and children all day.

After reading previous reviews my husband and I were a little apprehensive as we normally would go to L/C or L/A down south. This hotel was fabulous!! Room was very clean, beautiful view to the sea from our room, comfy beds and pillows, abundance of hot water and cleaned every day except Sun. The hotel itself was wonderful, two lovely pools, plenty of sunbeds, very clean and the staff were very polite. The food was good, plenty of variety and to say they have to try to please everyone the chef did a good job. Outside the hotel to the right of reception a short walk brings you to shops bars and restaurants all of which are very reasonably priced. Across from reception there are some steps which take you up to a road and if you bear right take you down to more shops bars etc. The beaches are exceptionally clean. Take a trip to Puerto Deportevo, well worth a look and this is were you will find all the boat trips, jet ski's etc and Los Gigantes is beautiful.
We fell in love with the area and would definately consider returning here, no questions. My husband was even looking at apartments to buy!! :)

hi all
expect you have all heard the bad reviews, its a bit pot luck but if you go at the right time &get the right room then you will have a good hol. for a 3star hotel, good bits are the pools just had sunbed area painted , the gardens & pool & all the hotel is being constantly cleaned by a dedicated team of staff who are all very accomadating to any of your requests at any time,& all very polite : bad news for us was good friday arrival (more expensive) at 0715 am there were people in the race for sunbeds & within 5 mins of the chains coming off the whole pool area was covered in sunbeds (some not being used all day) all the problems you here about are generally caused by unsupervised screaming kids, most nights until after 0015 hrs ,we had 1 cockroach in our room on 4th floor , but hey we are in spain !! they tend to live there(but didnt see any hedgehogs they tend to live in england) ,also the food was not best quality but the chefs etc. do a good job with what they are given , always something good to eat , we would definately go again just pick a quiet time of year & a quiet room ,it is a good value for money holiday, ps: to steve & pat from lincoln missed seeing you off by 5 mins, saw your wristbands in ashtray ?? outside hotel ,hope you had a safe journey home from paul& chris

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room on 4th floor
