“Last Minute Holiday March 2013”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

Last minute holiday booked for March 24 2013. Reviews on here were accurate, staff friendly and helpful, nice quiet area of Puerto de Santiago, complex was very clean and pool area cleaned every day so much so it provided my early morning entertainment because the staff started to lock up the sunloungers everynight so no towels could be place. That didn't stop the usual die hards who got up and were waiting ready for them to be unlocked to 'nab' one or in a few cases 'nab' 5 at 7 am each morning.
Only problem I would alert anyone about is Room 373 avoid at all costs. Apartment couldn't fault it but the location is terrible. Outside the bedroom window is what I would only describe as an electrical generator, this machine was noisey 24x7 so sleep was hard to come by and also this room does NOT get any sun at any time of the so was constandly cold, no need for air con in this room.

Room Tip: Don't accept room 373 noise from generator and no sun at all whatever time of day.

This was a last minute holiday in June 2012 and we paid £290 each for 7 nights all inclusive. After reading reviews we were worried about going but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. When arriving the staff were nice enough and we had a nice room that overlooked the sea. (Although it didn't have aircon we were shown another room that did however it wasn't in a good state and the room was dark and objects were broken so we stuck to our first choice!)The hotel is in a small resort which has everything you need such as supermarket and a few restaurants but it is quite quiet but I guess that suits most people looking to get away. The food at the hotel isn't the best but again you get what you pay for. We ate out a few nights and found that the food was reasonably priced and most places weren't very busy. The beaches in the area aren't really to die for but there are local buses that can take you around the island if you do wish to explore. All in all it's a good hotel if you don't mind the odd fight for a sun bed!! Would definitely recommend the water park!!

We have just spent an all inclusive week at this hotel. We booked last minute to get away from the weather here and weren't disappointed.Room was basic, staff nice and we found the food ok. However we didn't like the cleaners constantly knocking on the door or the maintenance men hammering and drilling at 8am.We complained but were told no work was being carried out near our room - very strange! The roof solarium was very handy to get away from the crowds around the pool and had a great view.If you get a cheap deal on this hotel then you can't really complain but if you pay full price you will be disappointed.

Just returned this morning after 9 days at Taimamo and wishing I was still there. I went with a male friend who speaks Spanish to get us by and have conversations with staff which really helped us make more friends. I read the reviews and went with an open mind and actually cannot understand some of them now. Our rooms were spotless as were all communal areas. Buffet food was always hot and loads of variety too (and i am a fussy eater) always plenty of it and I don't know anyone who wasnt happy in the 9 days we were there. Always space by the 2 pools or on the solarium which we preferred as it was a good sun trap.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, we got loads of advise off them on sightseeing and we ended up in the local club with a few of them on good friday night til the wee small hours! They all work so hard and are happy, smiling and no grumpy faces anywhere!! The managers were always visible most days which I like as well.
As for comments about plastic cups, personally it's much safer than giving glasses to the few who abuse the all inclusive! I did get glasses most times for my drinks and saw many others did too in the bar but by the pool plastic is always the safe option.
The town we knew was a quiet fishing village but there is alot there if you get out walking and see it! Los Gigantes is very busy harbour town and loads of bars and restaurants with awesome sea views. Playa la Arena is a 10-15 min walk away with lots to do, the best local beach and awesome views! We did a boat trip to see dolphins and whales and were not disappointed. We also got a cab to Masca village for 25€ and trekked our way down to the beach! Hard work but breath taking views down the ravine. Well worth it if you like walking/trekking.
All in all, I can't fault it and wish I was there now still chatting with our friends and soaking up the Spanish sunshine and I must say a special thank you to the adorable Venezualan bar man for being so attentive and great fun. I shan't name him though :)
Keep up the good work guys :) x

Just arrived back from a week long stay. There were 4 adults in our party our rooms were basic but spacious and had plenty of storage so we couldn't fault the rooms ,rooms were cleaned most days but not to a high standard, towels not changed even when left in bath as they ask you to do so they know they need changing, maids just rehung on towel rails. Pool area (noisy pool) okay not that much noise just back ground music which is nice and entertainment during the day (water polo, darts etc). The rooms and pool were typical 3 star which we booked and were ok with after all you get what you pay for. Our main concerns was the terrible food, on our first night the food was cold again the next morning it was stone cold at 8am the bread was stale, the juice disgusting as was the tea and coffee, We mentioned to our rep at our welcome meeting who agreed that there was a problem with the catering in this complex but it was being addressed. It wasn't addressed and progressively got worse all week , we ate out as much as possible. Cold food is a major health worry and we were not surprised that by our last couple of nights all you could hear from you room was the flushing of toilets and people heaving ourselves included. I would warn anyone to stay away from the food, I would also like to say that apart from the entertainment girls and 2 bar staff I have never been to a holiday complex and seen so many miserable looking staff, all I can think is that poor management is to blame and maybe more staff needed as most days as an example our lifeguard doubled up as barman at pool bar and chef at poolside grill as well as tidying the pool area and doing his lifeguard duties. It is a shame that this complex is not better managed as the rooms and pool etc could make a nice holiday if everything else was addressed maybe they should scrap the all inclusive and go self catering only.

We just came home from staying at this hotel. We were all inclusive which was fine for drinks, breakfast and icecreams but for evening meals it wasn't so great. We tried to eat one night in the buffet restaurant but there was nothing for our son or myself too eat but there are plenty of local restaurants which were excellent for our family. The pizza pasta restaurant was so fancy compared to the buffet restaurant but it was too fancy. The pizza was nice but the rest was just labelled chicken, beef etc so we had no idea what we were eating. You are only allowed two drinks (and two drinks only) every time you go to any of the bars and they are small plastic cups too so you are constantly up and down. Night time at the quiet pool bar is a bit better you get proper glass glasses and the measures are pretty strong. It's mainly alcohol with a splash of juice.

The apartment itself was pretty basic. Our son spent 5 out of 6 nights in our bed as he didn't like the pull out bed. Plenty of cupboard and drawers and the fridge was ok for storing juice in. If you don't like birds this place is not for you. The room we had looked onto the noisy pool and there was always pigeons either going about in the area or on the balcony. The stairway to our room the lights didn't work so it was pretty dark. Our beds were always made and the towels were changed when said they would be.

The pool area itself is nice. The sun beds were taken up quickly (I ran down on two days and grabbed some beds as everyone else does it so why not) but you could always get one about 3 o'clock onwards. So if we were out for the day we'd get one easily enough. The toilets for the quiet pool area are not great. The men's one doesn't lock! The women's ones have a timed light so pee quickly. So either get walked in on while peeing or pee in the dark!

Plenty of stuff to do and there was always activities but some stuff has seen better days.

All in all its ok for sleeping in so would be good if your out and about everyday but if you plan on using this place to eat in and be there every day I wouldn't recommend it.

On arrival apartment and hotel looked good but we soon realised the apartment was very dirty - our feet were soon black when we took shoes off. Lights not working and various othert things which in fairness were put right quickly. Reception were always helpful but other staff especially in the restaurant anything but. The food was awful especially the hot buffet which was not hot and mostly inedible - some dishes marked up simply 'meat'. Breakfast was acceptable. Towels were not changed even when put in bath - they simply took them out of the bath and hung them up again and we didn't do this on the wrong day. We had to complain to get fresh towels. Cupboards full of little bugs so no food could be kept in them.
To top it all from day 3 I was ill with with some virus I had picked up and whilst collecting medication someone came into our room and took all the loose change (about 15 euros) from a small dish. It was a further violation we could have done without.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel which is a shame as its apartments and what it could offer would be great.

Room Tip: We had a room with no sunshine any time of day but you wouldn't know that until you got there...
