First, the photo isn't correct. Casa Pedro has an unassuming frontage on a very busy street in Puerto Santiago, and certainly doesn't have a pool.
What it does have is a wonderful atmosphere and views over the ocean to la Gomera, and honest straightforward food at reasonable prices. The staff are attentive and Pedro hovers discreetly in the background.
We ate here during our recent holiday at Los Gigantes and were served sea bass, which was delicious, with fresh vegetables and tiny salty potatoes. We sampled the house wine and were served a tot of the local honey rum by Pedro to round off a lovely evening. He even called a taxi for us.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to find the restaurant open again during our stay, and there were no details of the opening times on the door. But we will be sure to go back when we're next in Tenerife.

We ate at Casa Pedro's four times during our ten day holiday. On each occasion we were made to feel very welcome in the restaurant. The highlight was without doubt the beef stew. An intensely flavoursome dish, served with delicious Canarian potatoes. On Saturday evenings Pedro entertains his diners with his singing.
This is a very popular restaurant and so it is advisable to book a table in advance if you want a table at the front of the open terrace. Tables 9, 10 and 11 enjoy the best positions.

We came here for lunch having just arrived that morning. We had a number of different dishes between us - whitebait, chopitos, sardines, fried cheese amongst others. All were really delicious. Pedro was really welcoming and the service was very good. The restaurant is decorated in simple Spanish style with an open terrace overlooking the sea.

We had a lunch and a dinner here, The lunch of Canarian stew with papas was fantastic especially sitting outside overlooking the sea.
Dinner a couple of evenings later was OK but the place was absolutely full and the food and service suffered a little although it wasn't bad.
They advertise having a limited menu in order to provide better quality at a reasonable price and on the whole they manage it.

We have always dined at least once at Casa Pedro on each of our holidays in Puerto de Santiago. Lunchtime or evening, the food has always been good and there are beautiful views to be had from the open terrace.

It was good to see the restaurant had quite a few customers on the Tuesday evening that we visited. The restaurant proprietor, a very pleasant and attentive host, told us that "all-inclusive" had hit many restaurants in the resort quite hard and we have noticed this ourselves over the years, not only in Puerto de Santiago but in many other resorts in the Canary Islands.

Better the food at Casa Pedro than some of the fare we had seen on offer at the hotel we were staying at, though. We had starters, a good quality steak, perfectly grilled for a very reasonable price, and, of course, a couple of complimentary drinks.

We look forward to our next visit.
