Overall an Excellent hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic which was a sea view and overlooking the pool. The food was good but after a few days became a little monotonous. However as the hotel was at least £300 cheaper than othgers in the area ... you could afford to eat out a couple of times.

The entertainment in the evening however was shocking !!

Returned today after 14 days All Inc. Travelled with wife, son 13 old & parents. It was one of our best holidays and we usually go 2/3 times a year and to the Canaries most winters.

The Hotel is big, full of big green but all the staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful, without exception.
Reception was efficient, quick check in and they were helpful if we needed any info.

I have to give a special mention to the Animation team.
We loved you. A special thank you to Dorota & Ricardo who was just fantastic.
Your competitions was - AMAZING!!! - creates a fun atmosphere.

The pool bar offered self service beer, local alcohols, coffee and tea, fruit juices and sparkling drinks, burgers, hot dogs and pizza available.

We had a great ocean view & mountain el Teide - room 406.

I am having a hard time actually finding the best words for all I experienced there!!! to anyone who is having doubts, I do recommend this place for a good time!!
keep all this good work and hopefully, CIAO DOROTA & RICARDO :)

For this holiday we were looking to just chill out. This was our first experience of an All Inclusive package. Playa de la Arena is a small, quiet resort which ideally suited our requirements on this occasion. The hotel complex is very well laid out on many levels all accessible by wheel chair or with baby buggies etc. It has a chute pool and two main pools, one of which is heated and there was never a shortage of sun loungers around the pools and in several secluded areas. The hotel is impressive, on eight levels, with rooms/areas for games , cards, kids play, kids club, tennis, mini golf etc. The entertainment consisted of a piano bar with pianist from 8 till Midnight 5 days a week. Then every night in the show bar there was live and disco music from 9 till 10 and 11 till
midnight, with a professional show in between 10 and 11. The entertainment was really top class and repeated at no less than fortnightly intervals. The food was of a high standard with themed evenings on a two week rota, ice cream and cakes all day with the drinks being plentiful and very acceptable. We are both in our sixties, but young at heart and this was a perfect holliday for us, however one must remember that it was in February and outside school hollidays, chosen on purpose.

Only booked this hotel 10 days before we arrived as we were going to Sharm but with all the problems didn't fancy going so this was a last minute decision. We have never been to Tenerife before so didn't no what to expect but l must say l was pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
The hotel is one of the nicest we have stayed in and believe me we have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels all over Europe. The reception is a wow when you first walk in with plenty of seating area's and free wi fi. There is a lovely piano bar area with an outside terrace which overlooks the pools and sea again with plenty of seats. The hotel is spotlessly clean we never saw a piece of litter on the ground the surrounding are colourful and well planted with lots of trees and shrubbery.
Pools there are 2 main ones and a water slide with kids pool attached one of the pools is unheated but you soon get used to it and boy you needed it as the weather was very warm when we were there. We never had a problem finding a sunbed when we went down at around 9am and all day there were empty ones scattered about. Loved the fact you could help yourself to soft drinks ice creams snacks and beer from the pool bar if you wanted anything else you could order it.
Meals in the restaurant were to our personal taste with lovely joints of turkey , lamb, veal etc there was also grilled meats such as steaks, chicken and fish every day plus arrange of themed meals like Mexican, Indian etc. The choice was vast and very tasty though you might struggle as a vegetarian. Evening entertainment was held in the music hall and was of a good standard with professional acts on most nights which consisted of a magic show, Abba tribute band, Mow town and soul band, dancers, parrot show etc
The rooms in the hotel were very spacious with plenty of wardrobe space a Tv with ITV an BBC so you could keep up to date with what was going on back home. It had a very good size bath room with separate bath and shower our balcony over looked the pools and sea and there was a canopy you could pull down to keep the sun off if needed.
The area outside the hotel is quite small with only a few shops, bars and restaurants but enough to have a wander down too. Los Gigantes is not far away with a few more shops etc and only 3 euro in a cab or you can walk or bus to there. Buses stop more or less outside the hotel and will take you as far as Los Cristianos and also over to the North of the island though it is a lot cooler on the other side of the island and very scary going up the mountains.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return myself in the future as it was very good value

Firstly I will say that this Hotel is not a terrible one as some recent reviews would suggest and it suited us perfectly as we had a party of 8 ranging in ages from 2 to 83.
The check in was great and the rooms we were given suited us, my parents had a sea view room which was practically the same room as a normal room but you get a dressing gown, slippers and some water and mini wine on arrival.
I had an adjoining room with my 83 year old grandmother which was not far to walk from reception and no stairs which was fab, my room overlooked a residential area and had no sun but didn't bother me, the lights are turned out very early on the balcony and we did have to use a lamp out the room to have evening drinks.
The pool area was fine for us, the children's pool is tiny and separated by a steel barrier from the water chute slide and is freezing.
The main pool was heated and is lovely my children were in and out all day, there is another pool which inflatables are not allowed but this pool is colder. There is a sign up displaying the outside temperature and the temp of each pool which is helpful. Towels are free and can be changed whenever you wish. Lifeguard is the towel man and very rude, was more interested in a couple of girls selling clothes doing a fashion show one lunch time, if I was paying his wages it wouldn't be for much longer.
The pool bar is very good and lunch can be eaten here if you don't want to go to the main restaurant, larger, slush and fizzy drinks are self service.
The piano bar is pleasant and you can walk out on the terrace to watch the sunset, bar staff are not mean with drinks and you can get as many as you wish on all inclusive. Bar staff are not chatty and neither are the restaurant staff which reinforces my idea that we are not well liked as a nation. Staff very unmotivated.
Kids have a soft play area with a lovely girl from Romania named Gisella and she could not do enough for the children she was lovely she also did the mini disco for the kids but we didnt go bit of a funny time 8.30pm, no kids club here.
The main restaurant is OK, not fantastic ,my 8 year old vegetarian struggled but think she would in most places, fresh fruit, salad, fish lovely, fresh grilled meat daily, roast joints, could of made more effort for everything not to be cooked in loads of oil, eggs undercooked at breakfast and sloppy scrambled eggs. They have a different theme each night and on all inclusive drinks flow as you wish ordered from the waiters, desserts lovely, there is a huge selection but don't forget there is a lot of countries to cater for so once past the german selection of meats and weird sausages it does narrow it down for us brits if you are a fussy eater, we tried lots of new food which I think you have to be prepared to do.
Outside the hotel the beach is nice with a strong tide, too strong for a two year old, the lifeguard kept coming over as we were paddling.
There are some shops and bars/restaurants but there are a lot closed down and it is a tired little place really. Not a lot to do outside the hotel at all.
We hired a car and drove to Loro Parque not for the faint hearted across the mountains but pleasant for those who want some good views and to see the place. The hotel has some nice features, gorgeous reception and waterfall, very clean throughout and stunning in most places.
All in all we went to relax and have some fun with the children, we did that and we had a good laugh, would we return, I think for a week of dong nothing but pool fun and sunbathing then yes, if the food improved I would not hesitate in returning.
Anyone with any questions about this hotel email me and I will gladly help you.

Just got back from a week's holiday with the wife and a two year old...

good news:
room ok
check in was ok
pool was quite nice but on the cool side
beer was on tap in the pool bar
2 year old enjoyed mini disco but started a bit late at 8:30PM
weather was great
close to the beach and good access
soft play area for kids and mini golf and tennis in good nick

bad news;
they tried to get me to pay £50 for a room upgrade overlooking the pool on arrival - feels like a con
ended up with a nice room itself but overlooking a construction site/partly built building on the side overlooking the gigantes rocks - very ugly and in the shade
also on this side of the hotel someone has a dog who barks all night - can't sit on balcony to relax with that noise going on
also they turn the balcony lights of at 9:30 via a centrally controlled switch and was advised to extend the lamp from the room onto the balcony
no cot in room as requested and confirmed
food was ok - could just about live off of it but not brilliant some food was cold
flight back with first choice was delayed by 4 hours
mini disco started at 8:30 - late for tot
dinner started at 7 which was quite late for the toddler
very busy hotel - feels very impersonal
the hotel is an industry - seems very mechanical
beach was nice but sea was very rough
very hilly walks with pushchair
odd vegatation in the hotel - we figured to cover the concrete
some staff nice but some a bit off and rude
gin and tonics were bad to start with but told tonic was "off"

We stay in a lot of hotels 4 or so per year and this hotel was ok but I would not recommend and we know what we are on about as we have been in some really nice hotels.

Soz this is a bad review but you need to know this stuff before you book it . 3 start with a posh lobby that's all - extend your search for a perfect holiday - good luck!
