“GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Great place to chill, plenty space for everyone, activity pool, quiet pool. Restaurant has a very varied assortment of lovely food. Rooms and all communal areas spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cannot think of anything negative to say about this hotel. A fantastic week, would recommend to anyone. Although we didnt have children with us, a great place to take children of all ages, lots to keep them occupied.

Room Tip: Every guest over 18 gets a pass to go to the spa for a thermoludic treatment. However, we didnt par...

Just returned after a weeks stay with wife, mum and mum in law. Weather was great, 70+ degrees everyday. After an efficient check in we were delivered to our adjoining suites in a speedy golf buggy .... Hold on tight, the bell boy takes corners like Lewis Hamilton! Rooms were excellent, two floors, spacious and clean. There were two bathrooms, two large televisions and plenty of wardrobes. Only complaint was that on a couple of occasions we arrived back to the room to find a trail of tiny ants, however filling up their entry route with shaving gel seemed to do the trick. The main communal areas and grounds were lovely, very clean and lots of colourful flowers everywhere. We spent most of our time around the quiet pool and couldn't believe how many sunbeds there were .... Never been anywhere where you were able to find a sunbed at any time of the day .... What a treat! Food and drinks were plentiful. Breakfast was good, lovely omelettes, bacon and eggs cooked fresh as you wanted them, however we were disappointed with the dinner buffet which although vast in choice, was often unidentifiable and barely warm. Dinner in the speciality restaurants was also rather disappointing with food and service not living up to our expectations although it was nice to sit down and have food brought to us rather than run the gauntlet in the "school canteen"! Entertainment was generally good, something for everyone and children seemed to be very well catered for. The location of the hotel is not ideal for the elderly or infirm as it sits on top of a rather steep hill, however taxis are plentiful and not too expensive. Overall, we had a lovely and relaxing holiday and would recommend this hotel to others, especially those with children.

We returned for a longer stay this year because we loved this hotel. It's so good looking, clean and well maintained. The pool areas, spa and bars are a pleasure to relax in. We had a lovely suite overlooking the pool and sea. The a la carte restaurants are worth a visit; the menus are quite limited but everything is so nice. On the other hand, the buffet restaurant offers a massive selection so you can always find something you enjoy with a huge range of desserts, and breakfast is great. We met people who have returned several times so that speaks for itself. There seems to be lots of planned activities to keep children occupied and it's great fun to see them paraded past by the entertainment team to show off home made costumes and face paints. We've not visited in the school holidays but although the hotel has been full to capacity there is such a lot of space it doesn't seem overcrowded. Bus to Los Christianos provides a change of scene, or you can get off at the water park.
We loved to see that the hotel is the setting for the First Choice tv ad. As you can see it's very photogenic. We will visit again I'm sure.

Went to this hotel from 2-9 March 2013. Very large Hotel had storm for 2/3 days of our holiday. No extra entertainment put on. The sickness and diahrrea virus took 24 hours + out of our 7 day holiday. I put this virus down to the cleanliness in the restaurant. The food was luke warm and looked like school dinners!! We tried one of the speciality restaurants "The Grill" I expected grill but instead the food did not look like it had seen a grill. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant. The room we had was a sea view suite and was really comfortable and clean. Did manage to get one channel on the TV in english. This hotel is for families and not couples as there was nowhere to escape from screaming kids and rows of pushchairs. Entertainment was extremely good standard and was actually better than we thought it would be.

Room Tip: Definitely choose Sea View as other rooms look onto the back of sea view rooms

Dear Dianne, thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience in our hotel. We are glad you liked our entertainment and were satisfied with your room. Your feedback about the temperature and our grill restaurant will be forwarded to the responsible department to look into this matter. We are very sorry you got ill while staying with us. We have been informed about a norovirus in the area that had been brought in from outside of our hotel and affected people everywhere in Costa Los Gigantes. Our guests’ health and safety concern us very much and we provide affected guests with extra towels, toilet paper, water and our chefs prepare a special menus that infected guests can eat in their rooms to prevent the virus from spreading. We do the best we can to ensure our guests’ health at all times. It would be a great pleasure to welcome you at our hotel again in the future.

Just back after holidaying here last year, but after no problems at all last year most of the peaple we met went down with a 24 hour bug or virus?. Not sure where or when this came to the hotel but its not nice and knocks you for six. When I asked the First Choice rep she just smiled and said it had hit the whole area of Los Gigantes and just to see a doctor if you felt the need. Someone said it was from the Scandinavians which there were twice as many as last year. Combined this with the bad storm which lasted a couple of days lost our friends most of there weeks holiday and a bad experience. Lookily we were there for 2 weeks and the weather picked up. Overall the facilities take some beating but we will be looking somewhere different next year.

Stayed here from 3rd to 10 March 2013, having previously stayed in December 2011.

Overall it's a decent hotel with plenty for kids to do. We've never found it to be particularly crowded and never had any problems getting a lounger or having to queue for dinner. However, both our visits have been out of the main season or school holiday time so it may be different then.

Couldn't help feeling this time that standards have slipped a bit. We didn't find the hotel as clean as last time and it's starting to look a little rough around the edges. The biggest issue we had was with ants in our room. The little buggers were everywhere! If you have young kids then be really careful about making sure they don't leave anything edible lying around or you will come back to dreaded black line on the floor!

We also succumbed to a tummy bug during our stay, as did many other people we talked to. Although not directly the hotels fault, i do agree with a previous comment about the lack of hand sanitisers in the restaurant which can help to halt the spread of these things.

Room Tip: We have stayed in B and D block. Both are good locations, with nice views of La Gomera and not too f...
