“Always wanted to visit - glad I did!”
Reviewed June 30, 2011

For years and years I have driven past Misty Mountain lodge just after the Long Tom Cannon towards (sometimes from) Lydenburg and thought, "hmmm would love to check that place out". Well wedid and were very happy indeed.
Rooms are cosy - a little dated and small but cosy with a fireplace and a great view. Self catering not exactly brilliant for anything more than a fry-up. Lots to do in the area if you love nature and hiking etc. Restaurant food was EXCELLENT and service very friendly.. a great place to spend the night to break up the journey or spend a weekend to do some hiking or mountain biking. Well done guys - keep it up.

Lovely location , staff friendly and quite efficient. Total lack of management presence.Food quality good. Room ( family unit No.14) in poor condition, chipped and peeling paint, very bad mold growth on bathroom tiles.Lighting in lounge/dining area

Unit masquerading as a self catering possibility but with no cooking utensils (pots, pans.)etc.

Overall medium value for money.

This is a great place to stay while exploring the Panoramo route! The accommodation is just great! All very tastefully decorated, plenty of privacy, beautiful garden and a superb view. Food is great as well. We will definetely be back!
