I had stayed at the Sabie Townhouse in 2006 and really enjoyed it so I booked one night for a friend and I while on our way to Kruger Park. Greg and Kate were very gracious throughout the reservation process, providing assistance prior to arrival etc.

Greg and Kate have made several improvements since they purchased the property. Most notably the pool and bar area, and the additional parking. We stayed in the Giraffe Room. The room itself is very basic but comfortable. Kate prepares the breakfast herself and there is a great assortment of fruits, yogurts, nuts, and pastries. She also serves great cooked to order eggs, bacon, and sausage.

We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Sabie townhouse is a guesthouse with 4* hotel features.

The Zebra roomS were execellent. The plurarity of room is deliberate, as it is almost like an apartment. The Jacuzzi was fun, the host and hostess were extremely nice. Scrambled eggs were excellent.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different, we recommend the Zebra room.

We stayed two nights in the zebra room. What a beautiful room / guesthouse. The private jacuzzi was a real nice luxury! It all felt very friendly, warm and cosy. The owners made us feel very welcome. Very nice breakfast. We had a wonderful stay!

We stayed at Sabie Town House for 2 nights at the end of September and had a wonderful time.We found it to be centrally located for ease of getting around the area and it suited our needs very well. Greg extended a warm welcome to us and showed us to the very private Rhino room. It was a large spotlessly clean room with a nice comfortable bed. There was lashing of hot water for the shower/bath with toiletries provided. The hospitality tray had a jar of coffee (non of those mean little sachets), a very efficient 'fridge with a big jug of fresh milk and a bottle of cold water in it. A decanter of fortified wine & glasses for us to help ourselves to was a nice gesture. There was also a well stocked honesty bar. We were welcome to use their very comfortable lounge to watch T.V, read, etc. Upon asking Greg recommended two restaurants for dinner. We went to the Wild Fig Tree where the food and service were both exceedingly good. Both mornings we were served with an excellent breakfast. For anyone visiting this region, or even passing through, we highly recommend a stay at the quiet and extremely well placed Sabie Town House. If we ever return to the area we will definately stay again. Chris & Barbara Birmingham England

A lovely stone built well managed Guest Lodge . Everything seems to have been thought of for ones comfort & needs after a long drive .
Lovely relaxing view over a little gorge which one gets a closer view of from the cosy little pub also overlooking a welcoming swimming pool .A warm friendly welcome by Kate & Greg , the family which owns & runs the lodge ensures a happy relaxing ambience & the generous comprehensive breakfast sets one up for a great day ahead. Highly recommended. Tony Bent.

Room Tip: The poshest room is the Zebra, costs a little more but worth it, with dressing room, terrific bathro...

The room was clean, simply decorated, large, and very comfortable. The breakfast, good, with extra mushrooms on request. ;) The bar, relaxing with some funny stories, The pool, large and ice cold. But the best thing about the townhouse, the owners, Greg and Kate, they became part of our holiday, nights at the pub, walks in the cave, our 1st Briar. Nothing was too big a task, even the 6am packed breakfast for our early departure. A morning champagne beauty session at one of Kate's friends house (with the best homemade pesto ever) Greg and his funny stories and wind ups!
You may pay slighty more for the stay here, but completely worth it to come away with great memories of Sabie.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Greg and Family offer guests a warm personal welcome to our lovely, distinctive home, constructed of river stone and local timber, peacefully situated overlooking the stunning natural beauty of the Sabie Gorge. Without exception, the many guests who have stayed with us comment on the uniqueness of our home and that photographs just do not do it justice. From the verandah you can catch a glimpse of the hyrax enjoying the early morning sunshine, watch our resident sunbirds sipping nectar from strelitzia and hibiscus flowers, hear the occasional fish eagle calling and we have even been lucky enough to have a hippo wander by! Or you may like to take a short stroll across open bushveld to sit on the rocks and admire the gorge and river below. The emphasis of our spacious rooms is to offer guests comfort and a place to relax and feel at home. All have a separate private entrance and the majority overlook the lush gardens. Children are welcome, so we have family suites available and we are the only wheel chair friendly guesthouse in Sabie. Sumptuous breakfasts are served either in the dining room or on the verandah overlooking the swimming pool. We offer warm and friendly hospitality. ... more   less
