I live here on the island and while the 'fashionable' restaurants come and go with the seasons Cana Sofia remains the best restaurant on the island for me.
Moises the chef creates the most beautiful food using local and seasonal produce, after going to the restaurant for over 4 years I am still amazed at the presentation and taste of the food.
If I had to chose my favourite it would be the Red Tuna....or the Sergovia Pig....in fact stay there all day and try it all!
The staff are great and will make sure you are looked after and that your glass is full ( great wine cellar too, don't be shy to ask for advice). It may not be the cheapest on the island, but for the quality and service you get it is the best value on the island.
Have seen a few reviews complaining about slow service.....I don't agree, genius takes time, you are on holiday, relax with a glass of wine in your hand and enjoy the view of one of ibiza's most beautiful bays.....or if you are lucky enough to be there at the right time of year, watch the sun dip
into the sea at sunset while you eat....magic!

Cana Sofia is a family-run restaurant like many on Ibiza, however it is certainly not like most others on the island.
The quality of the food is really several notches above the standard fare on Ibiza, due to the inventiveness and imagination of the chef, Moyses, who is married to the eponymous Sofia.
Whilst sticking to local ingredients and basing his dishes on local (often family) recipes, he has allowed his creativity and artistry in the kitchen to develop, to create a menu that far outstrips the competition for its originality and taste. He has won several awards for his cooking both within the Balearics and nationwide.
He has an extremely well-stocked cellar with some of the best Iberian wines, ranging from local wines to new wines from young producers in Catalunia, to big well-known names.
Although some may feel that the prices are higher than other restaurants, and for some dishes this is true - the quality difference you will experience far outweighs the very moderate price differences.
Let's face it - Ibiza can be a lazy place for restaurateurs, who, in my experience can be relied upon to sit on their laurels, as they have a captive audience, and produce a boring level of standard fare.
Sitting facing one of the most beautiful coves on Ibiza, with a bottle of great wine, and some of the best, most well-presented food on the island, it is hard not to want to keep this place a secret.
If you feel like a positive change, or even if you decide to treat yourself, I can only recommend Cana Sofia for its high quality, friendliness and reliability.

My friend and I enjoyed an amazing paella truly cooked with 'love' and were incredibly well looked after by Moises. Food, service and view were excellent. While the paella was being cooked, we enjoyed some tasty croquetas, fried peppers and olives with alioli. When the paella arrived, we were delighted with its fabulous taste and the rice cooked al dente... Moises really knows how to make one! Overall, a great experience! Thanks '-)

I loved the view. I am a beach person so any chance to eat on the beach is great for me. They have tables indoors and outdoors so we immediately opted for outdoors. It was a short wait for the table but definitely worth it. We settled in to stay and glad we did. The paella took over 30 minutes...but this too was worth the wait. It was fresh and delicious. The price was more than I would prefer to pay, but since it tasted yummy I didn't care. I liked our waitress but in general the staff could have been friendlier. They weren't horrible but they weren't overly friendly. I asked for an extra plate and the impression I got was this was not an easy request. But the plate did arrive and in the end we were all happy. Drinks were great, the tables and bathrooms were clean. After we ate we walked along the Cala Vadella beach. All-in-all it is everything we wanted in a beach-side restaurant.

We went there for lunch on our holiday last year. The service was excelent. They sat us at a nice table and took note of what we wanted for lunch as soon as we knew, although the restaurant was full. The waiting was the normal 20 minutes for a paella, but we where served starters and they kept us updated on how long it would take, which made us not feel abandoned by them.
We left there with a full tummy and a good impression. I would certainly go back!
