On a recent dinner. The food and service was ok but it did not represent good value for money. Much too expensive.

Thank Graham M

We have eaten here before. Its a lovely setting & an impressive old finca. The menu has an Asian flavour & the balance is good. Service also very competent & the restaurant manager is really efficient - its all very well done. We thought the food expensive though for what it was. And as before we were surprised at the size of the starter in my case - superb spiced chicken salad, well dressed but huge! And what was that ice cream doing on it??
But its a treat especially if you are staying at Son Antem & need some good eats!

We had dinner at this restaurant last year and had a wonderful meal and were therefore very keen to return on this trip with friends who we had sang its praises to. We specifically booked to have dinner on an evening when entertainment was provided (on this occasion a Spanish guitar player and singer which was very good). To our dismay we were surrounded by unmannerly hotel guests who insisted on using their mobile phones during dinner with one particular worse for wear gentleman who was even taking and making calls. This was all topped off by a couple who then joined the throng for dinner accompanied by their two dogs which barked in accompaniment to the music.

When the maitre D asked after the starter had been delivered if we were enjoying our meal we made her aware of the foregoing only for her to respond by saying, "welcome to the 21st century"!

Whilst the food was very good the ambience left a lot to be desired. Needless to say no gratuity was left much to the dismay of the waiter who had to be asked more than once for the change from the bill.

We spent 6 nights and enjoyed it very much mainly thanks to the big rooms under number X02 (rooms X05 are much smaller for the same price...) the fantastic outdoor pool, the overall magnificent building-finca well renovated, and Maria who is the sunshine of everybody's breakfast!
We also liked the dinner there as a half board with a different 3 courses menu every day mainly focused on local ingredients with an asian spiciness taste
The things that can be improved are again washing lines missing as everywhere... The shower also is not deep enough and the bathrooms are floaded every time which is dangerous on marble floor... Some timer/clocks and instructions could be added within the spa and hammam to make our experience easier as there is no dedicated staff there (also some fresh water or tea could make the diff...) and the service. Staff is nice but could be much better service for a 5* especially on the booking of activities...
Overall very good place with some areas for improvements...

Lovely meal in a very tranquil location with attentive service. The staff were very welcoming to children and there is live music on Thursday evenings in the summer-time. The food was very good but I would agree with other reviewers that it is fully-priced. However this does keep the rif-raff away!! They do sell their own wine produced from their own on-site vineyard for a very tasty €28 per bottle.
