“Chill in the sun”
Reviewed February 13, 2012

Returned again with friends in January and we all had a great time. Absolutely nothing to mark this hotel down for, everything was perfect, relaxing and simply superb. I simply can't understand how people criticise the hotel for not being what they expected. Reading the reviews it is perfectly clear that the hotel aims to provide a relaxing stress free holiday, and that is what it does in spades. If people want a more lively holiday why book this hotel and then berate if for being too quiet? All hotels are horses for courses, and provide different holiday experiences to suit the needs of their clientele. Prospective client's pick the hotel that best suits their requirements, surely.

The food provided is first class. I don't like everything that they have on offer, but I doubt I would like everything on offer in any hotel anywhere in the world, suffice to say I ate much more than my fair share on a daily basis, putting on lbs during our week long stay.

I suppose if one was to be uber critical then you could find something to complain about in all hotels, and I mean all hotels, but is that why people go on holiday, to pick fault? Sad really. I however prefer to simply kick off my shoes, let the stress melt away, and simply indulge myself for a week, meet new friends, and simply have a great relaxing holiday.

If this is what you are looking for, then this is definitely the place for you. A quiet oasis whether you want to find a corner to read a book, to lie on a sun lounger and doze the afternoon away after a wonderful lunch, or to participate in all the daft games the animation team organise daily, the choice is yours.

My advise is book, pack, arrive and enjoy.

To all the staff at the hotel, keep us the good work, we have been guests at your hotel twice already, thoroughly enjoyed your hospitality, and are returning again in April for a third visit. Counting the days already.

Room Tip: Spent little time in our room except to sleep at night.

Fourth time here--including Christmas last year which was wonderful. Each time I have enjoyed the hospitality-the food-the entertainment, and the facilities. This time I have gathered a few of my friends to come with me and I am sure it will come up to the praise I have heaped on it , It is good for all ages and has access for any one with walking difficulties-especially a ramp with bars to hold on the way in to the mainpool. The staff are helpful and the animation team seem to be on the go all day until the nightly shows end. They sometimes have a problem with children being allowed to run round in the show area and onto the stage, but there is a time when the children are supposed to be away from the area, but this depends on parental control. Looking forward to going again soon Geanna

Room Tip: If any walking difficulties ask for a room near the main block

Stayed for 2 weeks in January and didn't quite get the weather that we expected. However no complaints about the hotel. Nice exclusive and quiet location (car handy). Good pools (but cold!). OK rooms and clean. Considering we were there for 2 weeks all inclusive the Buffet was OK but a bit tedious towards the end. Great service though. The hotel cries out for a theme restaurant to break the buffet tedium. (understand that it used to have one but it became too busy). Wouild we go again - yes but when it's warmer!

Room Tip: 5th Floor is good for the views over the harbour

The staff go out of their way to make your stay as good as possible. Facilities are excellent. And although the hotel was very busy during our stay from Jan 12-26 nowhere seemed overcrowded at any time.

Would we go back? Definitely. To be recommended if you're looking for value, comfort, and service.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better sea views.

we travelled as a 3 generation family of 6 to celebrate our daughters 21st and 16th birthdays. The hotel was lovely and the food good. The pools were freezing however the heated one was just bearable in November.
The hotel made a big effort for us so that we could celebrate the birthdays. Our only gripe was that the front desk never seemed to have enough staff on and the queue for checkout was ridiculous and caused us much stress at the end as we nearly missed our airport transport. The spa was amazing and we were given a free entry which we all enjoyed. The position of the hotel is good with a short walk to the small pretty harbour and only 5 minutes by taxi into town.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in late January, and we agree with all the positive things written by other guests. No point in repeating them all again. So would we pay a return visit?
Yes ... 'nuff said!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for sea view.

We went to this hotel in January 2011 and enjoyed our stay very much. We had excellent weather last year but this year we had a lot more cloud, a few drops of rain and a cold wind at times. However this did not stop our enjoyment and we certainly had some sun. It is good to get away in January. The weather is better in the Canaries than in the UK , The days are longer and brighter and when we get back to the UK we appreciate how much longer the days have become during our absence.
The hotel has changed from Iberostar to being managed by the owners but there was not obvious difference in the standards which are just as good as they were. Apparently the owners have always managed the hotel..
This year we had a room with a side sea view. On the left hand side we had the sea with Fueventura in the back gound and then the volcanic mountains. It was a lovely and we preferred it to simply a view of the sea although, at this time of year, the sun did not move to our balcony until mid day but then we had the sun in the afternoon and evening.
Again we enjoyed the thalassotherapy spa, sauna, hamman etc and are surprised at how under used they are by the visitors. If you go try them.

We enjoyed the evening entertainment more this year. The entertainment room has good staffing levels from 8pm so it you are finding the piano bar upstairs busy move down. The childrens mini disco is fun and it was good to note all the adults stood up to help form the Smiley tunnel for the Smiley train.

I am full of admiration for the animacion team who work very hard and always manage to look enthusiatic and good humoured

,

Room Tip: for a view of the volcanos as described try rooms 216 to 224, 316-324and the 4th floor above.
