Arrived April 2014, it is just 15 minutes from the airport. On arrival, fantastic reception, we were offered champagne, water, juice, and the reception staff excellent and helped us to our room. One note however, we had arrived on our own - a little later when a group of people arrived, it was very very busy checking in and the reception we received wasn't applying to everyone just due to numbers.
The room we had was standard with sea view - now a note of caution - sea view for us was I would say a 20% view of the sea in the corner if you made the effort to find it. In reality, our view was of the main pool area - but we were more than happy as it was a fantastic view. If you really want a sea view I think you would be in your rights to ask for a change of room - we paid extra so I still feel it wasn't right but as I say, we liked the pool view anyway.
The pools of course for our little girl were the best attraction - there are several including a heated pool - beautiful surroundings and all have pool bars serving drinks and food.
Note - get up early to secure your beds, you should ask for towel tickets when booking in and you then exchange these for towels which you use to secure your beds. The beds go quickly!
Food - we didn't book inclusive so if you want to stay in the hotel for your holiday you do need to strongly consider this due to the prices ordering as you go as we found.
Breakfast we had included and enjoyed, great quality although by the 5th morning was a little bored of the same thing - it is a buffet breakfast. We also tried food at the pool bar - not great and expensive. We wanted to try the main restaurants but were told it was fully booked but on inspection during the evenings, plenty of tables not occupied - strange!
Service, to be honest on the whole fantastic, so polite and made you feel very welcome. Only issue was the people who staff the pool bar in the main pool, the guy there is rude actually, he lets down the whole place - but otherwise excellent - didn't use that bar again so kept away!
Entertainment - all they have is singing and piano in the lounge/bar. This itself is great but for a five star resort which is remote from any main town/night life, they really need more shows. Not great for children to be honest, except the pool and for the piano/singing you need to get down early to get seats.
We walked to the nearby town Puerto Calero most days which has the marina and restaurants and there are some good restaurants but expensive - but the walk is beautiful, a wonderful place.
We also had a taxi to the main town Puerto Carmen - the main beaches are here, one long stretch, lots of shops/bars/food and cheaper - Puerto Calero very upmarket, Carmen is for all and the taxi price just 9eur from the hotel.
We only spent five says, in reality perhaps a day or two more would be good - anymore is not for us but we love Lanzarotte and would return - maybe not to this hotel as we have now done this and it is a little away from the main hustle and bustle and not alot to do except swimming and getting a tan.
