“A perfect stay!”
Reviewed March 30, 2014 via mobile

Wasn't sure what to expect as this was our first visit... And we were not disappointed! The hotel was idyllic, lovely rooms, cleaned daily and excellent wifi wherever you went including the poolside. The food was in the main of a good standard. Breakfast had everything, eggs - scrambled, fried, poached, boiled and an omelette. If this isn't good enough stay home!
We tried the a la carte dining and although it was good we preferred the buffet evening meal with the choices available. There was no barging but when busy you were required to queue which again wasn't a major problem because people were waiting for their fresh cooked meat/fish. Tell the chefs how you want it done and they will give you exactly what you want no fuss.
We went all inclusive, the spirits were good but the free wine choice wasn't extensive and you were expected to pay a supplement for cocktails like mojitos. The room mini bar was well stocked but despite being all inclusive you had to pay which was a shocker.
Several pools but still very cold at the moment and I was one of maybe 5 to brave the water. Once they warm up they would be ideal.
My partner found the wind too much so you should pack a light coat for the lovely 10 min stroll to the marina where there are designer shops (men beware) several restaurants, bars and a supermarket to stock up on supplies (to have your own mini bar!)
We hired a car for the day at the hotel, reasonably priced and saw the main sights in a day. Staff very friendly and helpful especially those at the pool bar.
Overall a great hotel, probably a 4/4.5* rather than the 5 they claim. The slight negatives are certainly overcome by the hotel's good points and I would certainly recommend it and would definitely return.

We were there early this month. I do not consider it to be higher than three star. The hotel looks great and the room was good with a see view, which we paid for, we went half board, the first night we had to queue for ages to get into the restaurant, we decided to eat in the al a carte restaurant one night, don't bother it was awful, the food was hardly edible and the service was appalling. The main restaurant food was quite good but you often had to queue which was a real pain, sometimes some of the food was not as hot as it could be, Buffet style so you could try lots of different things, lots of desert choices too. The area is nice and Puerto Calero itself has a lovely little marina with lots of berg good restaurants for both lunch and dinner, so nice place, although it was cold when we went and windy to begin with but did improve as the week went on. We hired a car and had a look round the island, lots to see but a week was plenty.

Room Tip: To be honest we didn't see any rooms that would have a bad view, but probably as far from recept...

Spent four idyllic days in this hotel in March. From the warm welcome we received (with welcome drink) on arrival the staff we encountered really were friendly and more than helpful. The twin bedroom was large and bright and very clean but not really 5 star standard, no luxury touches. However the pool area and general ambience in the hotel is quite luxurious. Lots of pools to choose from, even a slightly heated outdoor pool. The buffet breakfast was one of the best buffets I have seen. Huge choice of fresh fruit, breads, pastries, eggs cooked any way you wished, cold meats, cheeses, gluten free pancakes and even a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit skewers. A ten minute walk into the port with a small selection of restaurants or a taxi into Puerto del Carmen for more restaurant choices. Bliss, I would go back to this hotel.

Started the trip with a Fawlty Towers incident of trying to identify my non-existent "sea view" for which I had paid a premium, we moved into a suite for an additional €30 a night, which with a baby was well worth it. Dinner however was not, we were on a B&B package so paid for dinner the first night, the food was mediocre to say the least and vastly expensive, learnt quickly that a nice wander down the esplanade took you to Puerto Calero where there were 15 or so restaurants of varying quality. Pools were unheated, although they claimed to be, which was a little bracing considering the wind and not ideal for babies. Breakfast, although the choice and quality of the food was good, was a shambles, not logically set out, lots of barging people and you have to stick to fried eggs or omelettes, poached or boiled eggs, I think, after a week of trying, you have to make yourself. Not a bad hotel, the best staff were those at breakfast, reception staff need to up their customer service and stop acting like they are doing you a favour when you approach them.

We had our first experience of all inclusive in over 15 years and we were not disappointed. We chose this hotel based on previous reviews and its proximity to Puerto Calero which we remembered from previous years as being a fabulous little marina. Our room was very spacious beds very comfortable, bathroom a bit dated in truth but we are fussy. free safety box, free wifi throughout hotel which was a lovely change from being charged extra. Fabulous selection of food for breakfast, lunch and Dinner. Took a couple of days to suss out exactly how to get the nicest food, found some of the ready prepared fish dishes not quite to our standard but hey there is so much choice you can certainly find plenty to suit even the most difficult of people. Tried the A La Carte and whilst it was fabulous we preferred to help ourselves from the vast array of food in the main restaurant. The drinks that were included in the package were absolutely fine ......mostly branded spirits and we found nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pools were well kept and looked beautiful only one heated. We could have used the spa throughout our visit for just an additional 50 euros. We hired a car in the hotel which was possibly not the cheapest thing to do but very convenient, we took ourselves off around the Island and to Fuertaventura for the day. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally pleasant and genuine.
If you want to get out and about on Lanzarote you really need a car and the roads are no worse than anywhere in the Uk these days, would really recommend the Cactus garden and Timanfaya we have visited both before and the charges are very reasonable. If you need to swim and sunbathe on a beach go to Papagayo beach near Playa Blanca you can get out of the wind here..... Just watch out for the Naturists... Or join them!
