My husband and I stayed in The Hesperia for 10 days at the end of June. We had a super enjoyable time here.

Check in was friendly but a little slow, a really lovely porter called Marcen from Poland took us to our room and gave us a cava as a welcome drink. Marcen was a lovely guy and really good at his job, he is destined to big things professionally. He remembered us throughout our holiday and checked how we were getting on and told us about various activities in the hotel when he saw us.

Our room was gorgeous, we requested a sea view room. The view was lovely. The hotel is very big so was a bit of a trek to reception, we were room 648, reception is on the 6th floor. The bed was comfy, air con worked, the bathroom was very nice and lots of hot water all the time. There was no kettle or iron though. I already knew this and took a travel kettle with me. The mini bar is well stocked but we just bought our own water and kept them in the fridge. The balcony is a nice size.

The cleaners did a great job cleaning our room every day, we left our do not disturb sign on our door until we were ready for the pool every day, so even if that wasn't until 1pm, our room would still be cleaned when we got back every day.

We had food in the hotel one night, it was buffet style food, it was so so. We prefer going out for dinner so just went for the BnB option which we were glad of because buffet style food isn't really our thing.

Breakfast was amazing, there is nothing you could wish for. There is even cava if you fancy a mimosa, the hot breakfast was delish and the fresh fruit and seeds were lovely. The freshly squeezed juices were so fresh and refreshing.

Activities are organised every day, my husband played rifle shooting and archery, you could also do Zumba, beach volley ball etc. Alicia who is over the activities is a lovely lady, and really motivates everyone to take part.

The hotel is very relaxing, if you are after a crazy 4 in the morning holiday this place isn't for you, you come here to unwind and relax. The pools are fab although the small one near the back of the hotel is very cold but refreshing in the heat.

The hotel is a 5min walk by the sea to the marina where there are a handful of restaurants, shops and supermarket. We rented a car but to be honest you wouldn't really need one, we just did a few day trips and drove into Peurto del Carmen to meet friends once or twice, a taxi to P del Carmen is about €8 if you fancy a mad night out.

All in all we'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel!

We booked this hotel All Inclusive with Monarch and had high hopes of a good standard of hotel. It is a beautiful location, and a 15 minute walk, which is boarded, to the marina, where there are restaurants and a supermarket.A queue for approx 15 minutes to check in after a long day`s traveling is not acceptable,we were however given a sea view room which was lovely. The food was varied and of a good standard,The staff were very willing but not trained to the level expected i.e very poor on serving wine .In some areas ie the pool bar we saw a staff member working flat out very long hours on her own,not the best.We felt that this hotel was trying to operate on a shoestring and therefore missing out on the polished service usual in a hotel of this level. The hotel was clean. On checking out we were presented with a bill for several items from the mininbar also a bottle of wine which they said was not on the all inclusive,we had nothing from the minibar, and had asked for the all inclusive wine from the outset. The minibar items were quickly removed from our bill, and the manager agreed also to remove the wine cost too,and said he would retrain his staff regarding this.Someone else has commented on having this same issue at chechout ......what is going on here ?The inaccuracies at checkout and having to battle through the process do not leave one feeling as though you would ever want to return to this hotel.I am sure the whole place is suffering from a strong need of further training,or is someone trying to make a quick buck ????Shame because it could have been so good too

Room Tip: Sea view substantially better than mountain view

This hotel is amazing. As we arrived we received a complimentary Cava or glass of water by the porter who then happily took our cases to the hotel room. Once we entered the room it was really great. Even though the room was on the ground floor and you could see people walking past, along a little path, but our holiday was uninterrupted. After a short walk to the marina, you can find food for everyone's taste. There were plenty of sunbeds available, breakfast was great, I cannot fault this hotel. The hotel is that great there was a wedding everyday that we were there.

The only hotel i would go back to, was really sad leaving.

Just returned from Hesperia Lanzarote after being recommended by a friend and truthfully we were NOT disappointed!
After a short ten minute transfer we were greeted with a complimentary glass of cava and check in was speedy followed by a hotel porter very happily taking our luggage. The lobby is huge, modern, with plenty of comfy sofas and chairs by the bar. The evening entertainment took place here every night including a crazy pianist, a jazz band and a magic show!
The room was clean, spacious, with big comfy bed and plenty of wardrobe space. Decent size bathroom with a very good shower and plenty of mini toiletries waiting (these were replaced daily).
We chose to stay bed and breakfast as we read that the nearby marina was host to plenty of nice restaurants (which was VERY true). The breakfast had plenty of choice to cater for all tastes, ranging from pancakes to omelettes, with pastry and meats and you could even hard boil your own eggs. The staff were always quick and attentive and there was even the offer of free cava to swig!
The hotel was busy but by no means full so there were always spare sun beds, with 3 separate pools and 2 pool bars (one of which has stools in the shallow end of the pool to enjoy your drinks!). The only one downside is that it is quite a windy resort (after asking the locals if it was always like this - 'yes')
The marina is 10 minutes walk down the sea front with lots of restaurants catering EVERY cuisine with an array of designer boutiques nearby. The Amura Michelin star restaurant is a must but we can definitely say we enjoyed every meal and we are usually very fussy where we eat and have high dining standards.
We also rented a car one day and visited 'Playa Blanca' and 'Puerta Del Carmen' however in comparison they were nowhere near as nice resorts!

In summary we were overall thrilled with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and do not understand other reviews suggesting this is not 5 star!! Very well priced and worth absolutely every penny! Would happily return!

Room Tip: We stayed in a standard mountain view room and were more than happy with the room standard and large comfy bed.

was reasonably cheap for a five star, so concerned that it would disappoint , and booked directly with hotel who gave good advice re taxis and costs form airport.
spa was lovely and great to escape the constant wind.good treatments and very relaxing and good value breakfast was great
Our 2nd choice room was good, the first was not.
lots of pools but not enough deck chairswhich get used very quickly with people reserving them but not turning up.Towel hire deposit which we knew about

main issue was lack of good airconditioning, and it did seem to break down a lot.

Air conditioning is not good, and when it did work, it was not effective.
staff lovely, and will return

Room Tip: fith floor had good views and quiet
