This hotel is superb, the position is incredible right next to the most amazing white sandy beach. The sea is clear blue which always took out breath away. The hotel itself has been modernised and is now very contemporary, clean and the service is excellent. The staff are really excellent and are desperate for you to enjoy your stay with them. This hotel only offers B&B but the breakfast is served from 0800-1200 which is basically a brunch and the menu reflects this - I wont spoil the experience for you but safe to say the choices are excellent and breakfast really is a treat. The swimming pool is just lovely, nice and clean, when we were there very few people used the pool so we really had it to ourselves - it was bliss. There is also a lovely selection of complimentary soft drinks left for you to enjoy every day in the fridge in your room - this will save you a fortune as food and drink are really expensive all around the resort Es-pujols where this hotel is based as its the tourist capital. As the hotel is only B&B you have to find your own lunch and evening meal - there are so many places to eat, the quality is very high but its not cheap - the cheapest meal we had was a Chez Fred (2 pizza's and a bottle of house wine) which cost 21 Euro's. The most expensive was a meal at Valadero which is a grill/streak house on the seafront which cost 79 euro's for two of us. There is plenty of italian restaurants to try as so many italians go to this resort for their holidays but there is also a new Italian Tapas bar down one of the side streets off the seafront which only opened this season - it is stunning and the food will stay with me forever - the restaurant needs peoples support cos its the new kid on the block so please give is a try its called Formosa Tapas and is opposite a burger bar...There is plenty to do on formentera, there is a great bus service that gets you around the island but remember alot of places including the capital san franciso close up their business's at 2pm for a 4 hour siesta so go to these place in the morning. The best way to see the island is either by moped, bicycle or electric bike - you dont really need a car. The island is big on preserving the enviroment, its very green and you are expected to respect it. There are some great walks all around the island and several nudist beaches. All in all we had the most wonderful holiday, we found formentera the most wonderful place, stunning etc...its only just over 2 hours from the UK with a 30 minute ferry journey to get to the Island. My only advice is leave your kids at home unless they are under 5 they'll probably get quite board, this is an island for the grown ups with people visiting year after year - we have now joined that gang cos we think we've found our special place....enjoy!! its a holiday we will never forget and feel so fortunate to have been able to find a carribean island in the med!!!

I spent 4 nights at the hotel Tahiti with my wife and our two childrens, the place is very nice, the rooms are modern and they offer all amenities, including free minibar. The breakfast is outstanding particulary for Spanish standard.

Formentera offers fantastic beaches but the one in front of the hotel is far from bad so you can also stay there if you want.
The hotel is close to Els Pujols where you will get plenty of restaurants and night life but not in the middle of it so you won't be disturb by the noise during the night.

Hotel Tahiti is certainly a great place to spend a couple of days to relax and sunbath, I would definitely go back to this hotel in my next trip to Formentera.

We don't want too many people to know about this little gem of a hotel and we'd like to keep it a secret as much as possible. However we shouldn't be so selfish and the management and staff deserve to be praised as much as possible. I fear more and more people are getting to hear about it anyway, so why hold back?
This was the second time we've stayed at the Hostal Tahiti, having previously been there in September 2007, and I'd have to say it's just go better!
The hotel and the rooms are kept spotless and it has everything you need for a complete chillout. As ever the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and ensured our stay was a complete pleasure from check-in to check-out!
Like last time we hired bikes for 5 days so we could travel to some of the nearby beaches and other places of interest with relative ease, much more relaxing (and environmentally friendly) than the scooters which the hordes of Italians seem to prefer. It's also a cheap way to get about, at 40 euros for the both of us, and most places can be accessed easily as the island is small and flat enough (in most places) for leisurely cyclists like us. We visited more places last time - San Francisco, Cala Seona, La Mola, etc - but we only used the bikes to get to our favourite spots on the beaches at Les Illetes and Levant quicker. It was too hot to travel too far anyway!
We also discovered more, and better, places to eat than last time - and on our last night we found even more down a wee side street... so that gives us another reason to go back soon! Our favourite was Casanita, just down the street from the hotel, where the dishes were delicious but very reasonably priced. The most expensive meal was at the Caminito, an Argentinian restaurant, and the setting was very beautiful and romantic. I'd have to say our steaks were probably worth the hefty price paid. We also had a very lovely meal at Chez Gered, in another lovely setting round by the boardwalk on the beachfront, although communication was a bit of a problem as none of the staff spoke any english and it was mostly geared to the Italian clientele. I think we'll just need to take Italian lessons (not spanish funnily enough) to make our next trip to Formentera a little easier.
This little island off the coast of Ibiza is proving to be our own little bit of paradise, and without the hassle of a long haul trip, and if Carlsberg did hotels then I'm certain the Tahiti would be high up the chain.

...is the staff.
My stay in this modern, comfortable, coveniently located hotel was made even more pleasant by its people. In particular, Simone was extremely helpful with her hints on where to go biking, up and down the fantastic Circuitos Verdes (Green Circuits), probably the best way to see this little island.
The hotel itself features one of the best breakfast buffets I have experienced in a hotel of this cathegory, both by quantity and selection.
Only weak point, the internet connection is bit slow and unreliable. Like anywhere else on the island. But know needs broadband on paradise?

Formentera is a very beautiful, quiet, unspoilt tiny island reached by ferry from Ibiza (a 40 minute journey. The minute you sail into the harbour at la Savina you realize that you have arrived somewhere very different and very special. We stayed in the only resort on this tiny island, Es Pujols and we were not dissappointed. Hostal La Tahiti was wonderful as where all the staff employed at this lovely hotel which is situated almost on the beach. It certainely deserves a 4 star rating, even possibly 5 star. We had a sea view. Each room has a fridge which is topped up daily with FREE soft drinks. Breakfast is more than adequate with a very varied choice of foods...you could not fail to be satisfied. The whole interior of the hotel was very stylish. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, it was indeed a pleasure to be there.
The beach was adjacant to the hotel. Soft white sand and turquoise sea.....idyllic!
BE AWARE THOUGH... 2 sunbeds and a parasol cost 15 Euro per day ! Most people were buying a parasol for about 9 Euro from one of the local shops together with straw mats.
Es Pujols is a charming place. A promenade stretches along the seafront where there are superb restaurants serving excellent food. Be prepared to pay high prices though, remember you get what you pay for so it is GOOD.
Because the island is so small getting around is very easy. The most poular way is by scooter or pushbike. The roads are very quiet and safe Public transport is also very easy. If you like walking it is easy to get to a lot of places on foot. One day we walked from Es Pujols via the beaches to La Savina (about 1hr 30 mins) a beautiful walk along gorgeous beaches then past the disused salt pans and the reclaimed dunes.
Aother nice walk (just over an hour) was to San Francesc , a pretty little town with many interesting shops and craft stalls. Most of the visitors to the island are Italian or Spanish. there were a few Germans and even fewer English. It was fascinating watching the fashions and people .
We were really sorry when our weeks holiday came to an end and would highly recommend Formentera to anyone who wants peace and quiet with fine dining and unspoilt scenery and beaches. There is not a lot to do or see on the island so do not go if you are looking for action and nightlife...stay on Ibiza instead!!

The Hotel is situated on a beautiful beach only a few feet away from the main building. The staff were very polite and eagar to make your stay enjoyable. nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The breakfasts were excellant and set you up for the day, we stayed for one week and may be would have tried of the variety if there for longer. the rooms were cleaned and fresh towels daily also the minifridge was stocked up with soft drinks and water daily. The pool area was clean and pleasent to bathe and for swimming plenty of sunloungers and brollies. easy get to other parts of the island by bus, stopped outside hotel or by bikes/mopeds. Holiday to suit couples of any age but not suitable for teenagers. Very little in the way of nightclubs on the island.

Let's start with "Hostal Tahiti".
This phrase must be some kind of Spanish anagram of the term "Luxury hotel", no way is this a 2* hostal. Many of the rooms have balconys overlooking the sea, and have (wait for it) fridge, kettle, tea/coffee, flatscreen TV, airconditioning, cutlery, free safe, bath/shower with enough shampoo to keep a supermodel happy, and, as I had booked with the excellent Astbury Formentera, complimentary fruit and a fridge-full of drinks (all kept being topped up!).
Oh, such nice touches! One usually associates this sort of service in 'normal' hotels with a "oh, so you expect to breathe, sir? That will be an extra £3.50/night + VAT"
Add the brilliant breakfast buffet, comfy lounge sofas, well-stocked bar inside, a cracking outdoor pool/jaccusi and a smaller pool for toddlers, plus direct access to the beach, I'm looking under every pillow to find a fault.
Surely the staff must be a bit off and disinterested? Nope, they get an A+ in being helpful and cheery. The cleaners, then? Nope again, they're also very thorough.
Ah, found a disappointment - the pool bar was shut when I was there in late September! That means having to leave the hostel...

....to visit Es Pujols and Formentera. The village has a great night-life, not, ahem, thousands of drunken youths out to drink more beer than they can swim in, but genuine holiday-makers, many senior, who just want to eat out and have a quiet drink in the classy establishments. Es Pujols has two fine beaches (spotlessly clean and safe to swim in) itself, but travel a few miles north by bus or bike (or walk through the dunes) to the best beaches in the world. White sand, turquoise sea, and no building development whatsoever, save for some quaint beach bars/resturants.

I hate writing all this as it means more people will go, and I don't want Formentera spoiled. Safe roads, very little crime, no pollution, and, on many of the beaches, no need for costumes. "Formentera" is definitely an anagram of "Paradise, Do Not Spoil".

I'll be back, and back, and back......
