This really is a very nice restaurant - and very popular - we had to book after a first abortive visit. This is a class act. Meticulously pleasant and helpful staff (not some thing to be taken for granted in Formentera) who made us feel welcome as soon as our feet crossed the threshold. We had a vegetarian in our party and they were able to produce a veggie pasta off menu for her. For starters, we had exquisitely fresh grilled veg (including tiny, teeny, tasty baby carrots, asparagus, aubergine, courgette and onion) all in a delicate broccoli sauce - fab. And 'baby squids' fried in a very delicate, light batter. For the main course I had scallops and local veg- very, good large scallops. My daughter's steak was nice but a bit TOO medium even for her. Son's homemade pasta barely hit the sides and my husband's sea bass got an enthusiastic thumbs up. We drank a local rose - E30 - light and tasty and ideal accompiant to fish. We had two chocolate bombs with hot chocolate sauce for the chocolate lovers and I had a gently frozen yoghurt confection with forest fruits with carmelised pine nuts which was inventive and delicious. It was a pricy evening - E230 for the five of us with only two starters and three puddings in addition to the main course - but this was a cut above the local repast and the (unusual) unanimous family agreement was that it was excellent value!
My only criticism was that our window-side table was next to the smokers' seat immediately outside the restaurant & we had to shut the window to stop the smoke coming in which made the atmosphere a bit stuffy. Come on Cantina - that is pretty poor and easy to fix........
