great suites with views of the desert and also the water hole so watching animals is relaxed. Food is good as well and the welcome warm. Each tent/suite is quite a way from the next so it is pleasantly secluded. The mini-bar with a couple of free cold beers is welcome after a day travelling.

This was our last accommodation during our Namibian tour and we could have not be happier to say goodbye to this beautiful country in this way. The lodge is stunning: we stayed in room Nyala that was really a jewel (we had only a little problem with the hot water: the manager was so kind to offer us another room to wash and a bottle of wine during the dinner). Food was delicious. Not so much wildlife in the surrounding, but the landscape is beautiful and peaceful (great sundowner with a well prepared and kind guide). The staff was amazing and they made us feel at home. Last but not the least we enjoyed so much playing with Toffee: he is so sweet.

Great connection with nature. Very simple. Very quiet. Staff very nice trying to be helpfull.

In the edge of the kalahari Desert we can smell the sand of the red dunes. An intersting drive. Different. Without the "the big five" but with other intersting animals and plants.

No danger around. For those who like walking or biking, go ahead.

We got married here last year in October already, yet never got around to review this wonderful place. The stark contrast to other establishments in Namibia we recently experienced now motivated me to drop a few lines.

The management and the entire staff are just amazing and really went out of their way to make our stay and the wedding as special as it should be. It was the first wedding they hosted but what a debut! The rooms, the food, the service, all as close to perfect as it gets.

We will be back.

We arrived in Windhoek after several long days of travel from the USA and made our way to the Red Dunes Lodge as quickly as we could get ourselves there! And while it was the most expensive single night of our two week trip it was worth every cent! The 12 chalets are all uniquely designed and ours - Nyala - was much more spacious and comfortable than our Manhattan apartment! Beautifully constructed and appointed. The bed was heavenly as was the silence and fresh air! We were greeted by a quartet of giraffes as we headed down the drive to the lodge. And it just got better from there. Excellent dinner and breakfast (and afternoon coffee/tea with goodies) and the staff were wonderful as well. Very warm, kind and attentive. Red Dunes Lodge also has the most brilliant website where you can look inside of each chalet along with taking a tour of the common areas. Hats off to the web designer! Overall, you definitely get what you pay for and it is a perfect place to unwind from a long flight, relax, go for a walk/hike, enjoy delicious food and drink, perhaps meet your first Namibians and get yourself acclimated for your holiday in Africa!

Room Tip: Consult the website before choosing your chalet as they're all different. We chose one that was...
