I frequently stay here with my dog when on passage from the Channel ports. I am always welcomed and have a dig friendly room. The decor and fittings are quite acceptable and clean if a little dated. I appreciate the size of the room and the bath. There is always a good choice of menu and carafe wine in the evening and a good ouvrier lunch at midday. The hotel is used by travellers and tourists alike.

Room Tip: Believe that some rooms have been redecorated.

We entered via the car park entrance as invited walking through what can only be termed as tatty storage areas. I could not quite believe it. Great cobwebs on the walls and the detritus of years stacked around. The actual reception and general hotel area was typical and very dated French decor, however our greeting was welcoming and the staff were very pleasant. Our room was on the first floor, no lift, those horrid lights that click off when you get to a dark bit! Not a bad room , overlooking the car park which was a bit quieter than the front of the hotel until the damn dog barked. The room and the bathroom were clean but the drains need attention. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant was in another class. Nice and helpful staff. The menu was good and the food cooked beautifully . Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had the warm cheese on toast to start . Really delicious! Huge portion which my friend helped me out on . Main courses all very good and the sweet course huge with fresh berries and sorbet. Yum! Next day we had breakfast in another area which was a bit stoic but fresh pastries and bread and the most delicious home made jam. The food saves the hotel. So many improvements could be made but it was reasonably priced so you don't get everything.

Room Tip: One at the back as the road is very busy.

The rooms are very simple but clean with functional bathrooms and are good value for the price. However the restaurant at the rear of the hotel is excellent. A table had been reserved next to the open window with window boxes full of flowers and we had a superb meal. Waitresses are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine of the region. The breakfast was simple but good value with fresh rolls and croissants and the best coffee of our trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel away from the main road.

Booked this over the internet and asked for non smoking room and when we arrived they did not have any.

Good Welcome and room and bathroom clean but on the front on a busy road.

Snacks available in the bar were enjoyable but the price of drinks was a bit pricey.

Breakfast in the morning was extortionate for 7.50 euros and not worth it. Part of a bagette and one crossiant and a drink but there was nowhere else to eat.

The room and breakfast were overpriced and would not stay again for this reason.

I haven't stayed in the hotel ( we have a house nearby) but we eat regularly at the restaurant.

Don't be put off by the rather grim entrance from the car park ( like a council block of flats!) it gets much, much better! The restaurant room, though rather seventies in style, is impeccably clean, always fresh flowers on every table.
The food is delicious, well-presented and often with just a 'twist' on a French classic to lift it out of the ordinary. The 15.90 euro (Oct.2012) menu is staggeringly good value, the more expensive ones are well worth the extra, especially the one featuring fois gras with pommes tapee.
Good local wine by the glass and carafe, and bottles, with less of a mark-up than in many places.
The local immobilier told us this was the best place in/near Langeais, and we believe him.
