If you want to stay beside the sea/beach and still have a nice pool around...Rohan is a really good place to chose.

If you then add the nice and clean rooms with a beautyfull garden and a breakfast buffet that are better than normally (france standards) then you have the perfect foundation for a wonderfull vacation.

We stayed 4 nights. 2 teenage girls and their father. Nearby beach is sandy and nice. There is also 3 good restaurants. If you need more people and turists around you....then take your car and go to Royan. We did it only once, to crowdy for our taste.

R. Rohan, we will be back.

Room Tip: Family rooms are nice, with own terrace. 30 meters to the pool.

Despite a day of torrential rain (out of the five we stayed) we had a fantastic break. The location is perfect, just above the beach with three good restaurants within easy walking distance. The room in the annex was fine - not huge but a nice modern bathroom with terrace and loungers. Fab pool which was very clean and heated and 20 metres from our room. There was some noise from the beach during our stay - a concert on the esplanade the afternoon when we arrived made us a bit worried in view of other comments but it was all quiet by 10pm. There was some late night noise (singing and shouting) from the beach on a couple of nights but it was far away and didn't last long. The only criticisms were that we thought the breakfast was a bit expensive (12 euros each per day) and there were no wholefood cereals(muesli etc). The hotel is so relaxing and peaceful and the gardens so beautiful that we would have liked to have a light lunch or snacks during the day at the hotel but only drinks were available on the terrace. We had a great stay, loved the hotel, the gardens and the pool and can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: Rooms in the annex are nearer to the beach so if it is noisy in high summer the rooms in the main bu...

2 adults and a 5 year old, came here on advice from the Michelin guide "French Atlantic Coast"
Not much to complain about really. We had a room with a terrace - not neccessary but convenient.
The Nauzan beach is situated VERY close - but this is all positive. You can stroll down for a dip, and return to your own sundebed in the residence garden. Or by the pool on the premises.
Mostly French visitors, then a melange of German, Brits, Dutch - some old, some young, retreating with a favourite book... A nice blend. Your typical French a la Monsieur Hulot au Vacances. Your typical Brit with the Maserati. And that French guy with his way out of league - long legged Iberian queen - singing out the words "Oh la la" at 3am...
The hotel is a quiet retreat, with the luxury of the Côte d'Azur - but without the exhausting ambiance.
Amiable staff. Very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to just about anybody.
Free parking - nice breakfast (free for kids)
Nearby (by car) InterMarché and sport2000.

Room Tip: Nice rooms without terrace in the main building. But during sunny days, a terrace is practical - als...

This hotel could not be better situated for it's proximity to the town of Royan (2miles), and the sandy beach at Vaux sur Mer. The grounds are well maintained with rolling lawns and giant fir tree's, and an air of calm abounds . No evening meals, but breakfast was a joy, either inside or out on the terrace. For our evening meals we walked 200yards down a path to the beautiful
sandy beach where there are two excellent restaurants and a pizzeria.
Our room was pleasant with French doors leading on to a small patio, which was enjoyable enough but not totally private.
The pool area was perfect, and we were happy to spend most of the day there. Staff were very helpful, and our evening pre-dinner drinks on the terrace were memorable. I would not hesitate to return, but next time for a longer stay.

Superb family run hotel overlooking the beach.
friendly atmosphere, charming rooms great service. An undiscovered treasure.
We loved the option of breakfast on the terrace, and free use of wi- fi and the library.

Room Tip: No lift, so if mobility is a problem, chose a ground floor room

What a lovely spot and what a lovely hotel. The hotel itself is made up of the main house which was formerly an impressive residence and a further two story modern building set in the sloping grounds nearby the large heated swimming pool. All of this is set in a couple of acres of well tended gardens dotted with magnificent giant pines and palm trees which dips down towards the beach, which can be accessed by a short private path. The beach boasts 4 restaurants within walking distance. We tried the closest, Maison Blanc on the first night and liked it so much we went again for dinner the next night. Our room was on the ground floor of the modern building. One entered on the poolside and on the other side of the room sliding doors gave a view of the main gardens and access a little private terrace with table and chairs. Rooms had big beds and modern bathrooms and looked to be very recently done up. Staff was very accommodating and wifi was free! Delightful!

Room Tip: Room 39. Ground floor next to pool and the little terrace is the only one with a direct view facing...
