“This place is amazing!”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

We stayed 3 incredible days in Puligny-Montrachet and absolutely loved it. La Chouette is wonderful - centrally located to other towns but you can easily walk into the quaint town center for a drink or a bite to eat if you don't want to drive.
Suzanne is very gracious and can help guide you to some wonderful places to visit and eat! The rooms are spacious, clean but to me the biggest plus was the awesome breakfast - everything was so fresh and delicious! We loved it!! We cannot wait to come back and will tell all of our friends! Thanks Suzanne!!

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are pretty sound proof. We had an upstairs room with a view of the vineyard.

We stayed here for a long weekend in Puligny-Montrachet and enjoyed ourseleves! The rooms were nicely set up and very comfortable, quiet and private. One could hardly hear any other guests at all. The bathroom was large and immaculately clean, which is often one of my pet peeves during traveling. Suzanne is a charming and helpful person who looks after you when you need assistance but who is equally good at staying out of your way when you need time to relax. A great place in a beautiful country-we would not hesitate to come back anyday!

During our recent 5 night stay, Suzanne guided us to the significant sites and cozy resaturants frequented by the locals, where we dined very well. Most importantly, when my wife became ill, she provided her with a tray to our room and made arrangements for a local restaurant to deliver a delicious dinner which she personally served to us. You couldn't ask for better care.
P.S. The breakfasts and cookies were wonderful!

We were warmly greeted by Suzanne. We found this to be a lovely town, a fantastic place to stay and would love to return. We only spent two nights here, but the room was lovely, the bath was spacious and the breakfasts were great! Suzanne shared her knowledge of the area which enhanced our visit. I would highly recommend this to anyone that prefers a small hotel instead of a large impersonal one.

This is a purpose-built hotel with just six rooms, that looks and feels like a home. It is run by the owner (who built it), Suzanne. She speaks the language of her guests so well that they wonder where she comes from. The answer, I can reveal, is Toronto.
Our room and bathroom were spacious, spotless and very well equipped. We had a pleasant outdoor sitting area and Suzanne brought us afternoon tea and cookies to relax us after a long drive, and the next day, a long walk.
Breakfast is inspired and sumptuous, taken at a large communal table that holds six couples. Fresh fruitts, juices, yoghurts, eggs, meats, cheeses, cakes and breads are massed in the kitchen, where you serve yourself.
We got good, detailed advice on where to walk and where to eat.
We found Suzanne charming and efficient. If there were occasional hints of moodiness, this is hardly surprising in someone who is on permanent duty, all alone.
Definitely the place to stay in Puligny Montrachet if you don't fancy the rather formal atmosphere of its larger neighbour.

We booked this place on the strength of other reviews on this site and whilst the facilities were as expected we were not made to feel welcome, indeed we got the distinct feeling that our money wasn't good enough. The owner had the cheek to pick me up on my English (being a native speaker who was trying to be polite I felt that was certainly uncalled-for and bordering on rude). Throughout our stay (which was only one night) we got the impression that we weren't rich enough to really be worth bothering about - indeed we saw the same expression on a number of the other guests. The final straw came on check out where we were not even thanked with a "Merci, Au Revoir" - for the price I certainly expected a "Thank You" in whatever language Mdme!

This place was just amazing. Tucked away in a small village, we were very heartily welcomed by the owner, Suzanne. She is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and basically planned out our stay, which was great! Also booked us a table at a tasting lunch nearby, which is not to be missed.

The room was divine. Large, well decorated and very thoroughly and quickly cleaned each morning. In fact, we came back from breakfast to find our room spotless! There was also a little outdoor seating area which was a great place to relax.

Breakfast is included and is great value with lots of pastries, fruit, and cold meats.

Location was fantastic, very close to everything.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will certainly hope to return there one day.
