“charming hotel in an idyllic location”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

The location in the heart of the wine region is truly idyllic - had a wonderful lunch on a sunny terrace before a very pleasant stay in the hotel. The rooms in annex are on the small size - not sure about the main hotel, but all in all a very nice place to stay in a very picturesque region. If you like excellent wines and looking for somewhere to stay in the heart of the Burgundy region, I can highly recommend this hotel and restaurant

This Hotel is for some reason highly rated in many guide-books. This was our greatest disappointment in many years. And it is quite expensive.
We stayed there April 4, 2014, in a deluxe room (what they call Grand Cru, after the wine).

There is almost no insulation between floors!!! We went to bed at 11 PM, and were awaked by our upstairs neighbors at midnight. My wife and I first thought there were people in our room it was so loud. No, the people upstairs were actually doing nothing wrong, just moving around and talking....but the lack of insulation meant we were awake for over an hour.
On check-out, we were not asked about our experience.
I have sent two complaining Emails, and gotten no response.
I recommend all the Hotels in nearby Meursault, where it is much less expensive, and quieter.

Visited restaurant one night only and worthy of 1 michelin star. Wine bar fridge for pre dinner drinks showed 9degrees for the white section and yet the wine was warm and at least14degrees. I can only surmise they were trying to cool an overheating . Very unprofessional to serve warm white burgandy!

Recently stayed at Le Montrachet to break a journey between Southern France and the UK. While the restaurant was good and reasonably priced, the hotel didn't offer value for money at all.

To our surprise, we were in the Annex across the square where the rooms and bathrooms felt dark and a little tired. There seems to be minimal sound proofing in the annex and so as other guests returned late, we were woken by talking and slamming doors. When it's freezing cold, it's also a nuisance having to put on coats to dash across the square to the main hotel and restaurant - we may as well have stayed in one of the cheaper hotels and walked to the restaurant. There is no car park at the annex (only street parking) and so if you want secure parking, you have to use the main hotel car park and walk!

If you go to this part of France, its all about the wine. This place will not let you down as its got a great selection of local wines that is uniques. 6 different types of montrachet by the glass starting at USD 14; beat that! Nice interior as well. Super service!

I suppose I could go into great detail about our recent dinner at restaurant Le Montrachet, but it is sufficient to say that there was nothing good about this horrible evening. We found out the next day that the chef left 2 months before. This restaurant has a 1 Michelin star but does not deserve it. Poor, indifferent service by a staff that seemed to lack training and proper French etiquette. Worse sommelier I have ever encountered in France. Food was well below that of a Michelin rated restaurant. We were ignored for most of the evening. Had to ask 4 times during the course of the meal to have wines poured. Very difficult to get the sommelier's attention. At the end of the evening, the lady who brought our coats was rude. Overall, the staff appeared unhappy. This dining experience will always be remembered for our awful it was.

We recently booked two nights at this hotel only to find ourselves in the annex across the street.
We seemed to be the only ones----strange. Sort of like the Hilton at Versailles. Think you have booked in the hotel proper only to end up in the annex. Another strange custom was the lack of any cheque after dinner. The amount simply appears on your bill at checkout. Will not be going back anytime soon.
